the 1.5 ohm Subtank coils, even with their juice restriction devices and smaller diameter STILL provide too airy of a draw and wick just a bit too well. Flooding the coil is still pretty easy, especially with a thinner juice and at lower wattage levels. The draw can be further restricted with a tighter drip tip, but the coil is still sucking juice in just about as fast. I get a more consistent MTL experience with the GS Air clearos and 1.2 ohm coils.
Thanks Cm!

Is the coil diameter of the 1.5 ohm Subtank head wider than on the GS PC? Have you also tried the Triton 1.8Ohm?

Generally speaking too wide of a coil diameter just leads to poor vapor production and overheating. I'd say the perfect size chimney coil is the one which just allows as much air flow as your preferred draw would need - because then all the air is efficiently used to carry the vapor and cool down the coil.

Maybe it's the overheating part which makes heads flood rather than big juice holes!? For example i had a lot of those issues with the 1Ohm eGo ONE heads. Too big of a diameter / too low resistance to be a true MTL head imho.

Having said all that I'd wish Eleaf came out with slightly smaller diameter 1.5/1.8 Ohm GS PC heads

From Old Thread:
@WickedWicks said:Has anyone compared the Subtank 1.5Ohm vertical heads to the GS Pure Cotton? I'd be interested in MTL experience not 20+W DL.

@WickedWicks : Well the Subtank Mini (same as subtank coils I understand) Vertical OCC coils are 1.2 ohms, I think that's replaced the 1.5's, kangertech is terrible about communicating when they drop a line, change versions, modify their tanks, etc, even with their resellers. I'm on my third day with my new Subtank Mini, and can report this personal opinion regarding the GS Air Vertical 1.2 ohm OCC coils, the GS Air 1.5 ohm dual coils, and the Nautilus Mini 1.8 ohm Vertical cotton coils. Vaping 70pg/30 pg NETs, I have to give a big flavor nod to the stock 1.2 ohm VOCC Subtank mini coils. The vape on the subtank mini coil is so smooth, and flavor is lovely, third day on the coil too, with NETs. No crackling and popping like I seem to get on the other tanks unless I go from cold to warm, then I get some gurgling. In warm weather, all the tanks and coils I've mentioned gurgle when I go outside on a warm day with my thin juice (like today, just moderately warm), the temperature change just does that, and the best explanation I've heard is the air warms up in the tank and expands, pushing juice through the wick. Sounds plausible.
Now the minus on my Subtank Mini, at work today, it started leaking out the air holes when i was outside, never did that until today. I cleaned it up, and went on. When I got home, it was even worse, I took it apart, looking for the source of the leak, inspecting orings, seals, etc. I noticed that where the coil pin end seals, their really is no seat in the base, just threaded, so the silicon seal has to seat into the beginning of the threads, not a great design. I thought that might be the cause, but after cleaning and putting the coil in tight, it leaked worse than before. Took it back apart, this time looking even closer, and the leak is not at the coil seal to the base, its definitely coming through the coil itself, and so I took a look at how it all sealed, and saw that the top of the coil head has a seal that has to seal on the inner tube, and it didn't seem to go very far. This time when i put it all together, I tightend the base very tight to compress the really soft red o-ring at the base, which slid the top coil seal further up on the inner tube. No leaks after that, but its cooler outside now, and my juice is thicker, so we will see what happens when its warm tomorrow.
Sorry to post so much subtank mini stuff, but i had to tell the full story to answer the question, being me and all, lol. :D
Edit: I should add, when I vape a high VG juice, which I am now with my Clockwerks Custard on my GS-Tank, that tank and Nautilus Mini tanks and coils behave well. except that stuff clogs up coils pretty fast, haha. By clog, I mean sucks in the cotton its so thick lol

Ruh roh, I just realized I may be morphing into something here. After vaping my GS Tank at 8.5 watts for quite a while, I've been vaping at a whopping 10 watts for about two weeks now.
You're getting into no mans land there, between a tootle puffer and a mod whomper...

ACK!! Did I just kill my GS MS? I sure hope not. :(

I dropped it hooked to my iStick 30 and it came apart between the air adjustment ring and the base.

As best I can see, it appears to just be a press fit. Is that correct?

How do I get it back togeher?

HELP!

Happened to me —just trying to unscrew it from a mod—witth a GS-Tank. Pictures in the old thread a few days ago. Press fit is right. I used all four thumbs to get it in about 90%, then gave it a gentle squeeze with a vise-grip to finish the job. No problems since.

I routinely vape between 12-14W's. 15-18W's on an ST Mini. Guess it's time for me to turn in my tootle puffer card. I don't belong here anymore. :(
You belong to us, Lynn. This is the ismoka/eleaf/joyetech/"none of us ever heard of the M or Ms" GS-Air lovers' thread.

Hey, I did the same thing, it broke my drip tip off, and bent the adjustment ring away from the base. I just pressed it back on, it went "pop" and its all good now. maybe a little looser :)

Thanks GF and DM. Slow but sure baby steps with a pair of pliers and all is fine.

It'd looked obvious but I'd rather ask than just dive in and mess something up.

I vape my GS Airs at 12-13.5 Watts almost all of the time. I think when I first started wiith them months ago, I vaped at 9.5- 10W's. Once I got used to the higher wattages, it's hard to go back down. The vape just seems weak at lower levels now.
