OK, got the GS tank TC coil apart. Looks to be 12 wraps of 26Ga Nickel in a vertical coil, wicked with what might be your normal Japanese cotton with both the non-fuzzy sides left on and just rolled around the coil. Pretty sure I can build this, but no way am I going to be able get the coils that close together and still be sure they don't touch and create a hot spot! It's all moot if I can't get that pressed fit top back in right though.

You can use the tank top, sans drip tip, to press that "manhole cover" back on.
Put the coil in your Air base, put the lid on the base, use the top part of your tank and put it
down over the coil and press the "lid" or "manhole cover" on. :)

As my 30Ga Tempered Nickel wire won't get here till tomorrow (Maybe), I went ahead and did 12 wraps of .4mm Titanium1 and the coil reads out at .44ohms, flavor is great, and "Clouds"! What a bummer to squeeze all that cotton back into that little case, tried rolling it in, Nope, tried squeezing it in with my fingers, nope! Finally ended up poking it all around the bottom of the cotton while trying to ease it in, Yep, that worked! Wasn't really worried about pushing on the coil, as I had to do that to get the spacing after pulling it out a bit in the first place while it was still on the 2mm rod of the Coilmaster V3 that came the other day with the Ti .4mm wire! Had to find a spacer that passed the raised center of the top cap, but still supported the rest of the top cap so I could whack it back in with a tiny hammer! Tried putting it in the base and screwing the tank together to press it in place, but that just left that darned top cap stuck in the chimney! Luckily the 2mm rod popped it out of there! I'll try a nickel build tomorrow after the mailman gets here. I'd much rather NOT run my iStick TC 40W in Ti mode! Using the GS_Tank with the new Ti coil on my Evic-VT right now! 440F with Prince Pucker max VG juice from Vape Moar! Crazy prices, 10 15ml sample bottles, thats one of every one of their ejuices for 20 bucks and free shipping! Their 120ml bottles are also $20 with free shipping! Heck of a deal, as there was only one of the 10 that I didn't care for at all! 110ml of good stuff for less than 30ml around here!

 leopards, can you tell if that cotton is charred or just discolored from your juice?
If wasn't charred, just discolored. Since this is a Teperature controlled coil it will not char the cotton, it will quit firing, first even if you run the tank completely dry! Coils would last forever if the metal part didn't get covered in gunk! I took the old coil in and ran it under hot water and hit it with a soft brush and it shined right up! Too darn bad you can't do that without taking it apart!

Tried that, the manhole cover part got stuck in the top part of the tank and I had to pop it out with the 2mm rod from the Coilmaster. A thick washer, a tiddly hammer and a pad of post-its did the trick!

UH-OH! Lots of that going around -- take it easy and feel better soon, LVM. You don't wanna get that precious little nugget sick!
Ugh. I know. I'm supposed to keep her this weekend.
And thank you.

Yes I have looked at cheech's blog and Lynn's instructions too. Even though I have small hands I have never been good with small stuff.Of course age hasn't helped the eyesight either and yes I do have a mag light but that doesn't help either. The hands won't comply.

I can't even get the dang things apart,Lynn:( I have no problem with the sub but I only use the RBA.

Franny

so if you’re having hand dexterity troubles (as do I)

modern technology to the rescue,
channel locks (tounge-n-groove pliers) make you a tuff-guy (gal)

one thing about e-cigs, they are cheap soft material so NO NEED to
buy expensive tools to work on them…

go buy a “set” of pliers - tounge-n-groove pliers can be used as
a hand held vise - - two sets and you can do most anything...

add some needle nose, a desk vise, etc…
I also rely on some good sets of tweezers (big help plus)

these are not ONLY good for e-cig work, but much more in life...

might just be worth the investment for overall happiness
might take some training to get familiar with using, but what doesn't :D

ya know, looking at your picture reminded me…

I play’d around awhile with making OVAL coils
not a ‘round’ mandrel coil (typical)

I was trying to make a single (bcc) coil fit better in the new Kanger bdc
the Kanger bdc has a large body which leaves a lot of empty space (with a single)
so I made coils from wrapping around a nylon tie-wrap {oval}
you can get a lot of cotton in the oval

worked for awhile, but I moved on, so my perfection of the idea died…

but MAYBE it might work considering the design of the GS TC coil body
wrap around tie-wrap, remove, coil in, tie wrap thru to hold – carrry on…

jus sayin’

Looks like a possibility, though the vertical coil is working gangbusters right now! It's producing clouds at 360 degrees on the iStick 40W TC in Ti mode!
