You might use a small magnet to check to see if it is stainless but it all looks chromed to me except for maybe the chimney (which also would be difficult to chrome). The most commonly used stainless steel (304) is non-magnetic. But SS is iron based and some stainless products are somewhat magnetic. But brass also is non magnetic, so a magnet test would only prove it would probably be chromed steel if the magnet stuck. Chrome's magnetism depends on temperature. I don't really care as long as it lasts, but it is interesting that they say it is made with stainless steel material.Agreed. I've used DV a number of times. Always had a good experience. Parts of this tank could be stainless....I suspect the inner center tube and the cross piece on the bottom might be.
