That's why that little bugger was about perfect! Only the ergonomics of it didn't work with my rat paws.I'm goin by these, not med needles. The little blue screwdriver is 5/64" (2mm) 14 ga.

It's actually Violet.Danged if that ain't it! So 16 it is...
It's hell being color blind.
I'll state it again, I'm a lazy coiler, I just tried a few different things in the slot of the Air coil until
the pink, purple, foosha needle I happen to grab worked best "ergonomicaly".
I figure it was about the size for the ohms I wanted and would figure out the wraps on the fly through
trial and error.
So whatever you want to use, that's what works best. I wish i had grabbed a toothpick for coiling!
I truly expected at least one other video on this so I could retire mine.
And I figured that video would include exact measurements and lengthy verbal descriptions of
care and feeding of your rebuilt Air coils.![]()
I have considered purchasing something similar if not that, but (here's the "but" monkey)I have one of these! very handy, non-intrusive.. and cheap!
Not for the same reasons I presume? I hope not with all your tsk, tsking!Ok, now I am laughing MY a** off, like Cheech.![]()
I think 14 is green and 18 is pink. But then I looked at the DIY place where I got mine and they have green and pink in 14, 16 or 18. I have no idea what mine is, but it is green. It fits snugly in the slot.![]()

I will leave that alone...But then I looked at the DIY place where I got mine and they have green and pink in 14, 16 or 18. I have no idea what mine is, but it is green. It fits snugly in the slot.![]()
on these little micro decks, it is very awkward to use, and prefer a needle tip. I have both 14g (green) and 16g (purple-ish) and like the 16g for GS coil rebuilds.I have considered purchasing something similar if not that, but (here's the "but" monkey)
I use the needle to stabilize the coil while reassembling it and figured it would be awkward.
I could see me hurting myself with it...![]()

Then I guess that's our final answer.
I've got 5 more to coil tomorrow. If it doesn't work, back to the toothpick![]()
