Hey @Jim_ MDP are you running this firmware on any of your devices? I think you have a few on the supported list.

Compatible hardwares:
  • eVic VTC Mini
  • eVic VTC Dual
  • eVic VTwo Mini
  • eVic VTwo
  • eVic AIO
  • eVic Basic
  • eGrip II / Light
  • Cuboid
  • Cuboid Mini
  • Wismec Presa TC75W
  • Wismec Presa TC100W
  • Wismec reuleaux RX75
  • Wismec reuleaux RX200S
  • Wismec Reuleaux RX2/3
Absolutely AMAZING, it's what the factory firmware should have been from day 1!
GitHub - ClockSelect/myevic: This is myevic Custom Firmware.
I installed it on my Evic vtc mini and the ss tc didn't work properly. Reinstalled the Joyetech firmware and everything worked fine again.

That's too bad. I no longer have a VTC Mini so I can't try it out on that device. It is working quite stellar on my Cuboid with the Ultimo RTA and its SS316 Notch coils.

There is a discussion of the SS316L TCR setting in the projects issue section.

I've noticed since I started using my DNA75, My battery life seems to last slightly longer than the Pico. Not sure why that is. Before I was changing the battery almost twice a day. Now I seem to only change it once a night.
The DNA chip is most likely more efficient.

I just bought 2 more of these... I will now have it in grey (new), silver (new), white, pink, all black, and all 'stainless steel'. Rocky Mountain Vapor's 'turkey' coupon is still active, so it's all their fault. After the coupon, the price was lower than Fasttech's price... Still got free shipping and no tax, too... :w00t:

The form factor is perfect for me, they do everything I need them to do, and wattage capacity is perfect (I seldomly ever go over 30watts anyway)... I think I'm set for the vape-pocalypse... But, I need a cure for shiny-itis!

Just got mine in today as an out and about device, have a G2 that I love, but is not pocket friendly.

I really like this little sucker. Light, pocket friendly, hits well, smooth. See over the long term, but first impressions are fantastic. Just in wattage mode for now, will try temp next build

Threw a new Siren I ordered and it is an awesome combo so far

The pico firmware upgrade has a puff timer. That function is also in the dna75. So run both devices starting with the same atomizer and build, the same fully charged battery and the same settings and compare the puff times when they stop firing. (Then tell us what results you got.) I did this with a Pico and vtc mini and they both ran the same 1,000 seconds of puff time. A Mega with a 4200 mah 26650 ran about 1400 seconds, long enoughh to get me through a full day and into mid morning the next day which is what I got it for. An Evic Basic lasts me 400 seconds.

Well, since I've gone back to the V1.01 FW I've drained the battery 4 times and have yet to have it keep firing after I released the button. So maybe it is the new FW, or maybe I had a bad install.

I sent another email to Eleaf suggesting that they might forward my original email to an engineer.

That auto fire bug in the Pico is one reason I wanted a better mod. That stuff scares the hell out of me. I would rather pay more for something that I know works well and isn't going to continue to fire when I release the button. I had my first Pico do that once, and the second one did it like 2-3 times.

Does the Pico have an auto shut off that works?
I surfed around looking for more reports about pico autofiring with a depleted battery and found little. May be that will change but probably thousands of users have upgraded firmware and many run down their batteries. If it's the firmware there should be more reports. Another possibility is the fault only happens with a narrow range of settings and circumstances so a bug exists but the right conditions rarely occur. May be the person who reported the problem could reflash the firmware and try to recreate the situation and make carful note of the settings so may be somebody else can cause it to happen.

Last nite the wife dropped her Kanger and broke it, so I went into the cabinet and pulled out one of the spare Pico's. She runs about 7.2 - 8.0 watts, hopefully her's will be ok. Mine hasn't had a problem, and I've had it for months running at 9.5 watts. When Xmas sales start I'm gonna pick up a few more for spares.

stuck in a squishy pod called my brain
4 picos. No updates..30watts 20-80 ohms

Lost second usb port the other day,...need to repair... It's a design flaw as there is no way to make it a sideways firm fit like on your cellphone where the legs locked in help keep it in place.

My battery caps can be sensitive on making good contact.. I put a dime inside cap and that works. but don't over tighten the cap!!!!!

I've looked and could only find 2 or 3 other reports of this. I may try and reinstall V1.03 eventually, but I wanted to make sure this issue didn't return with V1.01

I got another email back from Eleaf:

"Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry for the delay in replying and my apologies for the inconvenience.
Have you ever contacted your seller with your experience?
If not, kindly suggest you contact him first for after-sale service with the receipt.
Our warranty service is provided by distributors. It is more convenient and faster for you to be served.
If they refuse to do anything for you, please fill out the information required form in the attachment, and send back to us via email before we move on.

Look forward to your reply.
Have a nice day.
Best wishes!"

So helpful! It's 4 months old and they seemed to miss the point that I was asking if there were any reported issues with their FW.

You are right about not tightening that cap. They can be a ***** to get off if you should happen to need to in a hurry.

Pico is hands down my favorite form factor so I'm stockpiling them which has me vitally interested in any weaknesses they might have. So far I've learned from personal experience that the USB port can be over stressed. That issue could probably be repaired. If new Picos aren't available it would be worth the cost. A point in favor of the Mega is there is no need for me to recharge during the day because the extra mah gets me through a full day and then some. That means I could always recharge with an external charger and rarely need to use the USB charge port. The Mega is a useful device but I still prefer the Pico.

The retailer will probably exchange if you ask but I hope you work the problem a bit more before doing that. By chance, do you know the exact settings and coil resistance you were using when this problem happened? May be somebody else can reproduce the behavior.
