I wanted to bash my head against the keyboard after seeing that paragraph, but the next one is just as bad:
"Some e-cigarettes come in strawberry, chocolate, mint, banana and cookies-and-cream flavors designed to appeal to a young audience."
I'm 28, so I guess I'm in that young audience.... cookies-and-cream sounds pretty good, me must go get some.
In the settlement:
"- Sell flavored electronic cigarette cartridges such as strawberry, mint or bubblegum that could appeal to minors."
COULD appeal to minors? Anything COULD appeal to minors, what about ME the tax paying adult that doesn't like tobacco flavor? Am I not allowed to like cookies-and-cream?
How about we make this settlement with Ben and Jerry's:
"- Sell flavored ice cream such as strawberry, mint or bubblegum that could appeal to minors."
After all, we do have a problem with fat kids.
"- Claim that its products are safer than cigarettes or contain no tobacco, tar or carcinogens, and produce no second-hand smoke unless there is competent reliable scientific evidence to support the claims."
So they can still do this as there are NUMEROUS studies that show they contain no tobacco (look at the bottle, do you see any leaves in there?), tar or carcinogens... oh, and seeing as there is NO COMBUSTION, they don't produce smoke.
