yet they'll pretty much legalize another substance, go figure. california needs to fall into the ocean.

Yeah, that other substance was all-but legalized under the pretext of (wink, nod) medicinal purposes. Now they're on the cusp of full-blown, through-the-front-door legalization. That other stuff doesn't compete with big tobacco.

If anyone obtains a copy of the settlement between Smoking Everywhere and CA AG Brown, please post. Based upon the news article, it appears that SE's settlement is similar to the one NJOY agreed to with Brown about two months ago.

I believe that SE and NJOY were the only e-cigarette companies that AG Brown sued, as occurred with other State AGs, indicating that these State AG lawsuits against SE and NJOY were done in retaliation for SE and NJOY suing the FDA.

Not only that, but they are prohibited from selling flavored nicotine juice IN California? That's nuts.

God I gotta leave this state...

How does one define "flavors that are targeted to appeal to minors"? Would "pina colada" or "margarita" be OK, because they are flavors for alcoholic beverages (which of course do not appeal to minors)? Alcoholic beverages never contain any flavors that would appeal to children. :p360 Vodka Releases Cola and Chocolate Flavors | Liquor Snob - LiquorSnob.com

They're not allowed to say it doesn't contain secondhand smoke??? Its hard to not laugh at that.

Claims that e-cigarettes lack second-hand smoke, tobacco or carcinogens are likewise banned under the agreement.

And claims that they don't contain tobacco (is illegal)? Come ON!
I'll be looking for this one on Mythbusters next season. Should be a no-brainer.

Thanks to Lil' Lou for posting the weblink to CA AG Brown's settlement with SE.

Please note that AG Brown's waited an entire month (after SE and the CA court agreed to the settlement) before he issued his press release announcing it (just several days before the election in which he is running for governor).

Brown's settlement with SE is nearly identical to his settlement with NJOY

And Brown's press release announcing his settlement with SE (which also is nearly identical to one Brown issued announcing his settlement with NJOY) once again falsely claims that e-cigarettes are being marketed to youth.

If Brown was so concerned about protecting California children from e-cigarettes, why did he only sue two e-cigarette companies?

And why were the two e-cigarette companies that Brown sued the same ones that sued the FDA?

Seems like these were politically motivated lawsuits, as otherwise Brown would have sued many more e-cigarette companies.

Of course it was politically motivated. Brown is a long long time politician who is running for governor..... again

Except for the flavorings the restrictions are very much the same as those on smokeless tobacco who also cannot legally say there products are safer then smoking... and in fact have to lie on the can via bogus warnings by government mandate. The warnings are actually mild compared to smokeless.
