Embarrassed to say I need some math help in my mixing.

Okay, so I seem to have hit a mental block on a basic mixing equation.

I would like to mix 18% nic juice with 48% nic juice to arrive at a 24% mix,

How many parts of the 18% to the 48% do I need? What is the equation?

And, please don't tell anyone other than the million members on this site
that I needed help with this.

There are calculators that will do this. I can't remember what their names are, but you can look over in the DIY forum. ETA: oh looks, someone else posted one, lol ^

I can explain the math equations to you if you want, but you'd need to give either an amount of 18 or 48 you want or the amount of 24 you want to make.

I can't tell you the formula, but the answer is:

4 parts of the 18 mg to 1 part 48 mg.

Best to stop thinking in erroneous percentages, first. The 18% and 48% should be more like 1.8% and 4.8%, but are best thought of as 18mg/ml and 48mg/ml.

The calc in post 2 is not useful for this problem, btw.

You want a product that is 24mg/ml, so 10ml of said strength would be 240mg of nicotine, total. Plugging in a few numbers to try to get that strength gives me 2ml of 48mg/ml (96mg) + 8ml of 18mg/ml (144mg), for a total of 10ml with 240mg of nic. 240mg/10ml = 24mg/ml.

Probably answered already by the time I post this... I've posted the algebraic problem before, but people actually criticize doing so, so meh.
