1- Dandruff and dry hair. I had my last cigarette on the 2nd. (Started vaping beginning of march). Two days after last cigarette .. major itchy scalp.. i scratched and it looked like snow falling out of my head! My hair has become really dry as well. I dye it because.. hell.. I'm getting older.. but never has it been this dry.

    2- PMS
I've always had the typical mood swings associated with PMS.. but this last one since finally quitting was brutal.. weeping.. acting like a complete ahole.. i even yelled at my boss! I'm lucky she's cool bc i deserved to get fired for my outburst.

And the most embarrassing ..to me.. ba da dum...
    3- constipation .. sweet mother .. i won't get into details lol

I always have had plenty of fluid intake.. so i don't know if i should increase it or if this is my body ridding itself of the toxins in cigs..

    Anyone else experienced these issues?

Hey, I see most of your issues have all ready been addressed & hopefully some of these ideas will help :) I was going to ask what else you were drinking besides water ... as we know caffinated beverages add to the dehydration issue, unfortunately coffee, tea, soda's etc...
If you are a tea drinker I highly reccommend Rooibos tea (maybe better known as Red Bush Tea), it has no caffine (why can't I spell that word right???) As for the pms - are you in your later 30's? cause if you are you might just be getting ready for peri-menopause ....if so Oh what fun you're gonna have! On number 3 ... well I had the opposite problem for years so it's actually helped me in that area:laugh:  Anyway, hang in there, you'll get it all figured out:)

As to the men ... heh, don't worry about that - if they are still reading after your first post ... well ... whatever!

Oh & yeah, you might be gearing up for the M-word, ask your family members; if they started early then you're doomed!!

You are not alone. I had all 3 (dry scalp, but no noticeable dandruff), PLUS I had massive acne breakouts on my face. I chalked it up to the major detox going on...lots of water, some pricey adult acne cleansers and time (about a month) and all is well again. :p

Get a good daily clarifying shampoo.

As to the mood swings, Id highly recommend getting your thyroid checked while they are occurring. My wife had her thyroid checked on 2 separate occasions before the doctors finally found out hers was deficient.

She only went in when she was feeling good the first 2 times so it came back as normal. Since she's been on medication the difference has been night and day and I no longer make excuses to be out of the house.

Hottie.. any recs on a hair mask? I really don't need another reason to visit sephora.. OH YES I DO!! :D

to those of you with the quit zits.. and yes it's cosmetic .. but i can't imagine.. if that happens.. I'm addind proactive as a contact on my phone.. i .... you not.. oh wait.. i already shared that.

A million thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences!
not from sephora! (see...i am helping to keep you out of there)
    • Enjoy Hair Mask
    • Pravana Nevo Care :60 second Deep Treatment (the enjoy *feels* more "conditioned" than the pravana but they both work well)
    • Wella Brilliance Treatment
    • Redken just came out with a Diamond Oil line that has a mask and a "nourishing and strengthening oil" that i haven't tried but worth looking into :) (i'm not a big redken fan but some folks are)
[*]**Pravana Intense Therapy Leave-in Treatment for daily use is awesome (can also use it on skin for itching, doesn't weigh your hair down, helps equalize porosity, protects from UV, counteracts chlorine, etc etc etc)
(i like to give choices in brand and price :D)

a clarifying shampoo will make your hair feel dry and fly away...and strip your color.....FAST.

p.s. take proactiv out of your phone right this instant...especially since you are over the age of 14! :) so so so very harsh and will exacerbate any flare ups and dry the youknowwhat out of your skin...moisture= youth :D...ya just gotta go with the flow on the quit zits and drink water!

**definitely get this and use daily.

you should be able to get any of these at any mid-high end salon/beauty supply. i would definitely talk to someone that can see and touch your hair tho (that knows about hair/products...i am sure you have a stylist?)

I'm going on 5 weeks analog free, and noticed the dry scalp a couple of days ago. It was like snow in May! I take very good care of my hair and pay my stylist well to make sure I never know when/if I get gray hair. LOL! I started massaging moraccan oil in my scalp and it seems to help. I was going to get Head & Shoulders, but I think I'll wait after reading here that hopefully it will pass, and up my H2O. Thanks for bringing this up. I thought maybe it was just me getting old. :)

Look on the bright side, you have more reading time now. Invest in a Lazybowl 2000 toilet - you can recline, relax, read, poop and get a massage all at the same time. That's what I did long ago. Once I put a tv in the bathroom, my world was complete (I have very small goals and dreams)

Your body goes through all sorts of fun changes when you stop smoking regular ciggs. I quit smoking for the 50th time 6 months ago and started vaping a month ago. Well for those 5 months, I was a giant jerk to everyone. I drove too fast, got into it with other drivers, slept weird or didnt sleep, and was just really tense. I work in a high energy social services job where a LOT of people rely on me and are after me all day, so I snapped a lot and always felt bad. I realized I wasnt happy, so I tried a cigg. It was disgusting and I realized it was no longer an option for me, but I couldn't go on being so rude and mad all the time. I picked up vaping and I am so happy. Its one of those rare instances in life where you can have your cake and vape it too, so I am pretty pleased. That being said, I did suffer some less than desirable physical effects the first few months of quitting smoking. You may have traded ciggs for vaping, but you still have to wait through the withdrawal and physiological changes from the other 4000 chemicals you were addicted to. This will show in your hair, digestive system, skin, moods, and emotional health. At least with the nicotine still present in vaping, you wont have it as bad as those who stop nicotine all together. Analog cigarettes have SO many things in them your body has gotten used to, so give it and you sometime to level out. It takes longer than people think. My scalp was super dry at first and my skin looked dull and lifeless. I told you about my mood, and I wont go into the digestive issues, but I am glad I live alone, lol. Hang in there and congrats on quitting those nasty ciggs.

Hey skyz! I went through the dry scalp & my face was extremely dry too for a couple of weeks! I tried to drink as much water as I could but it still continued for a couple of weeks. I started doing deep conditioners & using an extra moisturizing cream at night before bed time. I thought that it might be related but I wasn't sure. The other thing that I had was...ok I'm just gonna say it...was gas!!! Major major major gas!! I felt like a walking hot air balloon!!

Hope these issues are clearing up for you!
Have seen the thread about gas and vapors OMG I laughed so hard my ribs hurt by the time I finished that one:blush:
