So amongst all this negative press and propaganda going around in regards to e cigs my wife comes home tonight and informs me that her dad, who is a doctor, told her how awful e cigs are for you "because of all the bad articles he's been reading" Well I lost it.....I made the point to her how so many of these article's claims are completely unsubstantiated and at worst outright lies. I also mentioned all the research that has been done that contradicts many of these claims. Anyways looking to see if someone can direct me to some place that has a compilation of much of the research that has been done to date. Any comments are much appreciated.
MY Dr. is one of the reasons I gave vaping another chance. She was the one who said she thought it would be a good idea. I was a half a pack a day smoker - so not great but terrible and she didn't really have an issue with that. She asked if I could cut down to 5 cigarettes and day and then to 2 because I was going to have a surgery which was supposed to include anesthetic but I actually asked if they could just do a local and they did - WAY CHEAPER and everything went fine.
Whether vaping is better or not - why should anyone care? It's my body. We KNOW smoking is bad, we've had the information for years and years. We KNOW GMO's are bad yet we still buy popcorn made from corn using them.
In my simpleton newbie brain it seems like all it is about is taxation and regulation. Vaping is a substitute for smoking unlike other cessation devices that lead to eventual quitting. Vapers get hooked on vaping and that's a lot of people not paying high cigarette taxes.
As for the Dr. would he not recommend the patch? the inhaler? How are those any more or less safe than vaping?
