ive read right through this thread and no one seems to have mentioned what my main concern would be.
never mind the debate over ecigs, id be seriously concerned as to why this woman wants your brother to carry on smoking tobacco as opposed to something that is undoubtedly safer.
Does she love him or is her long term plan to have her mortgage paid off with his life insurance policy? maybe im a cynic, but id be questioning her motives for arguing with such ignorance.

Have her sit in front of her computer and show you the proof that PG in the e-cig is bad for a person. (yeah right) And then show her the proof that inhaling tobacco smoke IS bad for you, even if it is "all natural". (If she is able to prove it, I'm sure we would all like to see that link!)

Also, another trick I know. Hold an Am. Spirit under a blacklight. She will see the chemicals on the paper "glowing" It is simply untrue that they are chemical free!

Also, you should have your brother-n-law read this entire thread, it's very convincing!

As was pointed out above, combustion is the demon in the whole debate. When you burn something, you get all the by-products of combustion. Atomizing and inhaling one chemical out of the 4,000+ you get in smoke is simply cleaner, healthier and indisputably healthier than smoking anything (PG being the least of anyone's concern). You should be very clear to this woman that you are not smoking. That's a big point in your favor.

I can say that I seem to be fairly PG sensitive, and I'd still rather have spent the previous night furiously puffing on my 510 than sucking down my old standby, the American Spirit Lite. I certainly have my doubts about what's really in the full Chinese fluids - say from Ruyan Direct - but somebody like Totally Wicked that does regular testing is pretty safe. Meanwhile, I'm going to try switching over to VG fluids this weekend, which are all, as far as I know, US or UK manufactured. Something like ECOpure is pretty damn safe sounding to me.

Windy, there really is no "winning" in an argument with someone who is "always right." A helpful quote to remember is “I never make the mistake of arguing with people for whose opinions I have no respect.” Edw. Gibbons.
Also, on a more wicked note, refusing to engage your sister-in-law will drive her batty. So perhaps you should simply smile sweetly, and tell her that you both obviously have your own opinions so there is nothing further to discuss on the topic. Then just walk away, or divert the conversation - and reapply repeatedly, always calmly and quietly - either she'll be smart enough to finally shut up, or only one of you will look sane in that interaction.

I smoked American Spirits for about 5 years before I switched to vaping, and I can tell you that my lungs sounded like crap. I'd lie in bed every night and wheeze.

About 3 weeks after going full time digital, the wheezing and smoker's cough are gone.

That's all the evidence I need.

Me, too. When I would hear the wheezing is when I would pray for a product that would save my lungs without forcing me to give up my cognitive and emotional health. I found it. We found it.

I have to agree with Mike...it's really the same kind of debate with the FDA...e-cigs are bad but tobacco cigs are fine. With a know it all type of person, you will never win. As one poster said, the more they see that they are wrong, the harder they cling to their thinkings.

Good luck.
