OK... what I want to know is, where did that tank with the brass-looking caps come from?!

G'day Matt (and all the rest of you e-pipermodders). I mentioned how good the Shire Malt was on another (Oz) site and it was nice to see a few of the guys are already owners or ordered an e-pipemod, or in fact some of the Pipe Sauce. It was nice to be envied since I already had some, heheh.

Minor problem I'm having with the pipe is contact isn't being made most times when I push button/draw. It seems to me the contact nipple at the base of the pipe may not be high enough to touch the batter due to the wiring. It's really just a borderline thing as sometimes if the battery is in a certain spot it will work.

I tried putting one of those little super magnet thingies on the base of the battery and it works fine. Would this be harming the pipe or battery doing this?

Any ideas on a more permanent fix that either I could accomplish (allowing for the fact my fingers are not connected to the smart part of my brain) or by someone a bit more qualified in electronics? I'd hate to have to send it back to you from Oz for such a tiny problem. Truth be told I don't think I could bare the separation.

A spacer magnet or button top 18350 is probably the best way to go with that.
Sometimes the solder tab can interfere with a flat top connection.
I do try to test for this sort of thing before the pipes go out.
But in the case of an intermittent issue like this... well I can see how it was missed.
Thankfully it is an easy fix, and spacer magnets will not be an issue for the pipe :)

Thanks Matt. That's what I wanted to hear. All steam ahead!

I'm loving this churchwarden using the universal adapter. Took it out and about today on my pipe using a DCT and worked wonderfully. Definitely going to need more of these. Only sadness is that neither the stem nor the adapter will work with a DCA, too loose, oh well.

Also digging the Oak Barrel Cider.

Well thats a huge disappointment for me also. It was why I bought the stem and the adapter to use it with the DCA. The adapter is black. Did you try maybe a little strip of electrical tape. Maybe something that is sticky you could build up the diameter with. My DCA was ordered last Saturday and still isnt here but should be here by Monday and Im gonna test out some ideas, once I have them lol.

I did find you can use the universal adapter instead of the DCA's top cap. The DCA isn't sealed anymore, but it is passable.

Well I wish I could use two of the three 510 stems I ordered but they dont fit, so Ill need to find another use for them. The peterson stem does fit perfect in the DCA so that is good news.

Matt, I need one of those beauty rings that you sell with the 306 drip tip. I dont need the tip, just the ring. If you have one to sell but I need to buy a tip also that would be fine. Or if you want to just sell the ring thats great. If you dont have it and dont plan on getting them anymore could you give me the dimensions inside and out on them. Im gonna have to find a piece of aluminum and make it myself. I have no idea how Im going to do that but Ill give it a try lol.

Ethan

Ill post pics of my Tangerine Dream with the Peterson later tonight or tomorrow :) That pipe is amazing, I love the orange color it has. Thats why I wish my orange smoke stem would work :(

Congrats on the new pipe Ethan... but that's a bummer 2 of your stems don't fit into your new DCA. I've been following everyone's comments about the DCA & stems compatibility and I'm a little worried because I have a black anodized DCA coming tomorrow and I'm not sure which stem to buy for it. Sounds like your Peterson works so that's great news... but what are the other 2 stems you bought? Are they the universal stems?

Okay, Sorry I've been out of pocket guys but unfortunately my wife took another spill on a horse. This time she wasn't so fortunate. Her collar bone has broken in three pieces and we are due for surgery on Friday. She is going to be okay (me too) just as long as we keep those pain meds flowing :)

The good news is, DHL is the best mail service ever and I have 200 eGo hubs on my desk!
I should be able to get the next batch wired up and ready to go in roughly a week (hopefully sooner).

So as far as the DCA's go...
The DCA's are great, However, They are bit of a bear in some areas.

Firstly the ID is slightly larger than your average 510 atty. So the universals are just barely loose.
They do get VERY HOT too so adhesives or any "shims" are not advised.
Because the Warden and Peterson Stems are hand turned to fit the universal (and slightly tapered)...
Some stems may fit the DCA without the universal. This is purely by chance.

The other issue with the DCA is the floating center pin.
If the DCA is assembled incorrectly it can put too much pressure on the center pin and short circuit any mod.
This can also PERMANENTLY DAMAGE certain mods (not mine I can fix it).
The best way to assemble the DCA with any mod is->
First, WITHOUT an atty, screw the base piece onto the mod until it's well seated in the connection.
Second put the 306 in the upper section of the DCA
Don't be to forceful, It's a friction fit and it needs to come apart later.
Then screw the 306 with the upper section attached into the lower section until it's just snug.
!!!!DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN OR PRESS DOWN HARD ON THE UPPER SECTION!!!!
If any adjustments are needed start over.

Here is an alternative for the DCA->
Screw your 306 directly on the pipe.
Cover with a DripShield.
Insert the universal into the dripshield and thus over the 306 inside.
Again do not be forceful. If you push a universal down to hard on a 306 you will be ...... later

This will serve the same function as the DCA on the pipes.
And you will be able to use ANY of the universal pipe stems with a 306, without worrying about leaks.

couple of question for Matt:
What's the VG/h2o ratio in Pipe Sauce eliquids?
Are those juices going to be distributed in Europe sometime soon?
I need them for my epipemods :)

I have been approached by a few vendors in Europe about carrying "the sauce".
Hopefully we'll get that rolling with a few vendors first thing next year :)
