I think I ordered the wrong stem. I'm planning to use the big daddy when it arrives and I ordered a long tapered lucite stem for my epipemod.

Looks like it's compatible with eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizers, which I imagine are larger in diameter than the standard XL dual coils :(

Can I grind the stem down to fit?

Check back with us in April and I think you'll be able to remedy that :D

I already did! I bought the Claro-Walnut pipe and accessories that were put up in the classies a couple days ago by lasttango. :)

It's on it's way to me and should be here sometime next week.

Thank you for the amazing work that you do..

I posted the wrong info. Yes if you plan to use the big daddy you did order the wrong stem for it.

I recently had one of those Ego Mega DC Cartos make my pipe smoke. Yeah, and not the good kind of smoke. The button spring was welded together and basically flat. Put the Carto on another pipe later that night and made another one smoke. Same result with another button. Actually it was the third button I melted down. So be careful with those things fellas. It turns out both my pipes are working just fine with my backup buttons and a different EGO Mega DC Carto. I had no clue it was the carto that was causing the smoke or I would never have used it again. I thought it was a random failure with the first pipe I had it on.

Bummer. Sounds like you probably had a carto with a misaligned center post which was touching the outer ring. I've heard that can cause a dead short. I always check to make sure the center post is not touching the outer ring before threading onto my pipe.

Thanks Kirwin, I never thought to inspect them. Im gonna take a look at mine now. Oh, I have another from that batch that wont tighten on to my pipe. It just turns and turns. I dont want it tight, just snug, this one wont even do that. I does fire but now well. Should I try to fix it somehow, do you know what is wrong. I need to become familiar with these a bit more. Ive had others that are just DOA and I typically just toss them.

I have also had one who just turned round and round. I threw it out. They are after all so cheap that one should not spend too much time on it.

My C2 pipe seems to be shorting out and causing super hot batteries. Tried using different cartos and attys but they all did the same thing. Any thoughts?

IF YOUR CAP GETS HOT AND THE SPRING FUSES
STOP USING THE MOD
Send it back to me for repair.

The springs work like fuses and break the circuit with the shorted battery.
Even with this safety feature it is important not to try this repeatedly.
Something is obviously wrong so send it in for repair.

Warning on EMDCC's
It has been my experience that about 1 in 100 eGo Mega Dual Coil Carto's come in DOA.
They are usually following 1 of 3 issues.
1. They spin and don't ever tighten on the pipe.
2. The threads are off/misaligned and will not thread on the connector.
3. The center pin and outer connector short circuit due to very cheap and thin insulators.
(this cannot always be a visible issue).

IF YOUR CAP GETS HOT AND THE SPRING FUSES
STOP USING THE MOD
Send it back to me for repair.

For the most part the newer (past November 2011) pipes are built to where they cannot short.
Shorts are then most likely caused by bad atties/ cartos.
Older models use the Chinese insulators and are subject to short.

If you are unable to figure out what is wrong PLEASE STOP USING YOUR PIPE AND SEND IT BACK!!!!

Right on Matt. The spring didn't actually melt yet. I couldn't get anything to happen for a long time and then today I pulled the pipe back out and tried to clean all the connectors and try a few different cartos/attys. Cleaned it using alcohol on Qtips. Only thing I got to happen after cleaning was hot batteries. If I should send it back in what's the address? I was thinking about just getting a new pipe but nothing appears to be in stock... lol.
