I have yet to see another wood that compares to the character in my Fruit of the Tree of Good and Evil Birds Eye Maple Burl Cap. The blonde and red horizontal striations with that burl cap pitting, make it extremely unique. Radagast captures that same unique wood aesthetic, but without the natural highlights.

Ya brother, you got yourself a keeper in that one. One of the best IMO. The name is awesome too.

So, did you see my pic I posted a few pages back. Im getting that tip from Stiff. The shortest one. Im not sure how its gonna look though on that Mini b. I wish these atty makers would always make matching tips like the AvISS.

I think I mentioned this before, but that pipe came from an exceptional block of birds eye maple burl.
I have yet to find another block quite like it. Which is why I still have a decent size block left for a future masterpiece.

Just ordered a TON of new material. Mostly restocking acrylic and elementals. Some nice new stuff coming as well.
Including a limited supply of amboyna and some very interesting afzelia lay burl.
I also order a bunch of different tru stone for accents. I think it's time we stepped it up a notch :)

Sounds great, except that always steps up the price also lol. Worth every penny but holy cow. Its getting hard to explain all this to the wife.

I'm thinking of stepping up the shankless line a bit with some more ornate trimmings. They would be a little more expensive, but probably still $150 and under. I would like to have some creative yet affordable options. Now that is not to say that there won't be some freehands with some serious work behind them. Those of course will be on the pricey side.

I'm sure this has been asked and answered several times, so I'll apologize in advance...

How do I get the taste of the last liquid I vaped out of my stem? My RY4 taste like honeydew melon! (So does every other flavor I use.)

I've wiped out the universal and wiped off the stem.

I've gotta feeling you guys are gonna tell me I need a pipe stem cleaner. Maybe combined with an alcohol of some sort.

:(

EDIT: Also, are the CIY blocks going to be offered in material other than Briar in the future?

Well I know that my Fruit of the Tree and Dirq's Viking are cut from the same block, but they are different on color. I got a wild hair and started looking for some exotic wood pipes to try and snag for conversion, but holy crap they are ridiculously expensive. Even the Estate Sale ones are insane. It gave me an idea for a unique new style that looks almost elvish. The pipe style pictured but as a bent shankless with a SHARP angle.

The preferred method seems to be a pipe cleaner soaked in the new flavor, stuck in the stem and left for a while. I suppose alcohol would work, too. I've got a bottle of awful gin that I soak atomizers in.

Glad you guys are posting some traditional pipes up.
Also glad you guys are aware of how much a hand crafted regular smoking pipe typically costs.
I can't tell you how frustrating it can be hear "wow that's expensive" all the time. Albeit they are expensive, but the value is there.
especially when compared to the cousin analogs out there. Some of the traditional freehands I have seen in ordinary styles go for $4-500 with ease. The more elaborate styles get well into the $1000s. I don't ever want to gouge people and I think most of you know that.
It's refreshing to have a good group here that understands the value and appreciates the art.
Kudos to all of you :)

You clearly are a cool dude. Now, I have had the opportunity to chat a bit with you online and then watch some of your videos. However, I didn't see any if that until recently. I was originally drawn to your site by the beauty of your work, thw diversity of designs, AND the various entry level price points. It not only helps people afford to get into pipes (and with arguably the best epipe on the market at that) but you also have a team than can put out a good number of higher end models for the die hards as well. Very smart. I am sure that a great many came into this at a lower price point but became long time, repeat customers. That is my story at least. And rest assured, the combo of material, design, labor, originality, and a very select and small international supplier base (and one in which not only can nobody keep anything in stock, but your variety of models far and away reigns supreme) makes these pipes more than reasonably priced IMHO. This is all before considering the fact that these are truly works of art. You are doing it right brother.

I would have to say i have a few favorite for look feel and texture-

#1 Briar- By far the nicest wood to behold. A glorious grain with infinite possibilities in Character. Tight consistent grain for a fantastic feel. Briar is also light weight making it a very comfortable vape given the excess battery weight.

#2 Olive Wood- overlooked by many because of it's blond tones (most go for darker woods). Olive wood is also a tight grained very stable, slightly heavier wood than Briar. The real beauty lies in the grain patterns and the FEEL. Olive wood has a very peculiar soft, supple, satiny feel that is unlike any other wood.

#3 CocoBolo- Tight grained, heavy stability, with a wide range of character.

#4 Amboyna- A rarity on the EPM rotation due to the rarity of the wood itself and the high cost of the material. It is a supple softer burl that rivals Briar in Character and has a very pleasant aroma all it's own.

#5 For the LOOK KingWood is a thing to behold. the Rich Royal Purple laced with strings of Gold brings an element of class and stature to anyone who holds it. Take this wood out into the sunlight and it will dazzle you with depth and translucence.

Of course there are many others that are very attractive Burmese Blackwood, Spalted Tamarind, Wenge, the curly's....

But that is why we keep making more :) so you can enjoy a multitude of styles and wood types!

I too love briar and I'm looking to get a pipe of yours made of it but have yet to catch one in stock.

Ahh. Soaking in the new flavor seems to be the easiest way. That's what I'll do. Thank you very much!

Kina sucks that I only have one stem. lol. Though I'm sure that I will eventually have one for each flavor! (And then some!)
