Oh, Im super glad you are literate, congrats. Facebook is just a tool, its not ......ing literacy or self development. People find a way to do that with or without Facebook just the same as they always have.

Well, that is debatable as to the Internet's effects on literacy and the hypothetical connection to self development. It is a major field of study right now with strong opinions and research to back it on both sides of the issue. I don't buy into the theory of the "new literacy," but many people who are more well versed, if not smarter, than me do.

Come on Dirq, you know my hatred for FB is at best semi rational and certainly rife with personal bias.

I hear you on maintaining communication here. I am just saying that the EPM crew has been virtually incommunicado on forums for a couple weeks leading up to vape Fest

You know me, I hate to hear people are not getting the help they desire. I wish I could help and do it myself but unfortunately without being in Georgia I don't know the answers to most questions.

I misspoke insinuating that you are trying to convince people to move over. Apologies for that certainly. I just wish people didn't think they have to move to the new spot to get PM's answered.

Also, this vapefest thing never crossed my mind so hopefully Matt will be back here answering PM's when the dust has settled with that. In fact I know he will. Glad you posted that so people will know why he is MIA right now. I sure wish I could make it to that meet.

Hold on there. I represent that! Being barefoot is not a choice to remain ignorant or shun education. I prefer to be unshod myself, and I hold a master's degree. There are valid reasons to avoid shoes.

I too avoid facebook because it encourages shallow rhetoric and is a poor substitute for meaningful conversation with my peers. It also encourages a level of being very public with one's private life.

lol, its an expression, not meant to be literal. The Facebook thing is more of a joke between me and BJ. I've forever been trying to get that guy over there. So please dont take offense. I was having a ruff day I guess.

I find it difficult to express myself without body language. This is one of the reasons I prefer face to face contact rather than e-mail and facebook. Even a phone call allots more room for expression.
