Sorry I've been away for so long guys but I seriously needed to Vacate!
I'm Back now though and brimming with new ideas and product for the site :)

Thanks for those awesome pics Dirq. It's pretty cool that smoking pipe peeps are looking my way.
I've been a bit nervous that they'd turn their noses up to them.

There are a few mods left, including some mjolnirs that I will put on the site by this weekend.
More Mjolnirs will follow so don't worry if you miss the first few.

Also the 100ml desk decanter bottles arrived yesterday. They will go up on the site this weekend as well.
I will be selling them for $45 which will include Priority USPS Shipping. This is because the bottles are Glass and will need to be well padded and shipped in a box. The purchase will also include a Funnel for pouring as there are no dripper caps available for the bottle. My thought was, these bottles would be used to refill the smaller 30ml bottles, as they are not really ideal for carrying around.

Not sure if you guys are aware of the fundraiser that is going on for Twygg but here is the link with all the info->
Help Twygg!!

I will be Donating the HUGE hammer of Thor, That's right the dual 26650, VV, Touch switch, 4x 10ml storage.....
I don't have the batteries for it but it will be in the auction.
Along with that Adam (MostAngryPirate) will be donating the 1st plateau pipe, the one from Chicago that everyone wanted, along with Merlin.
I would like to encourage everyone to take part in the auction and help support this cause.

Thanks in advance :)

hi all,

I met Matt at Vapestock, asked lots of questions and forget to ask a lot more, so ...

I was not aware the ego booster would have to be hardwired, is this true ? ... I was wondering if the pipe would even work at the standard 3.7v if the booster was removed ? ... tbh, I thought the booster was just an add-on like a tank or carto, screw it on and it works ? ... true ? not true ? ... need advice plz

it was my intention to have several configurations, booster with small Phiniac tank with standard boge carto, universal adapter and short lucite stem ... or ... no booster, standard boge, drip shield to hide it, eventually a churchwarden stem

sounds like the booster won't allow different shorty configs if hardwired ??

btw, a pleasure to meet Matt, an accomodating gentleman and wonderful craftsmanship

All his Variable Voltage pipes are hardwired with an ego booster that never leaves the pipe. All his other pipes that are not Variable Voltage do not have an ego booster hardwired in. They include the pipe bowl and the 510 ego style threaded connector. If you want to screw an ego booster on that with or without whatever accessories you want is up to you. The hardwired boosters go up a little higher on voltage than does a standard ego booster, however.

Be careful with that booster. A fellow vaper at the last Toronto meet suggested trying it out on my Black Palm so we set it to the middle level (around 4v) with a 2.8 ohm Stardust on it, and it blew the fuse on my pipe on it's second toot. Not sure why, but it happened. :(

thanks for the replies ... I would rather have the booster removeable ... so, if hardwired I can go to 5.4v and if removeable to 4.8v ? ... is this correct ? ... 4.8v should be plenty as I mostly use 2.0 ohm and 3.0 ohm boges, and I would prefer removeable ... if I need hotter I can always use my Buzz Pro ... any other issues with the Booster ? I've never even seen one, it was one of those things I never had any need for

I have both. I have one of his VV pipes with the booster built in and I have a ego booster bought seperately that I use on my pipe on a regular basis without any issues thus far. Im not sure what happened to Dusty's pipe. Sounds like it was the booster that caused the issue but since the fuse blew I would assume it was a short and not too much voltage. Of course Matt will have proper insight on that as I am just guessing. In sum, mine has been working flawlessly on my pipe for a little over a month now.

Yep, def be careful with the boosters. The extra insulation Matt puts around the positive post of the connector makes it taller and will cause the booster to dead short if you over-tighten it (learned that the hard way). Otherwise the booster I had worked great! I just got Matt-email saying I will have vapemail in a couple days so maybe my new booster's on its way!

does anyone have a dual batt Protopype they'd like to brag about ?

I thought I knew exactly what I wanted until I saw a vid compare the pp bowl to a shot glass ... I like a big bowl and my hands are big enough to make it disappear, my Buzz uses the same batts and the dual 16340's give me good vape time, so all that's a plus over a single 18350 or 18490, I think ?

Matts video showed some different angled shanks, some straight, some at 45 degrees and one looked to be about 30 degrees ... that's the short shank angle I would like, somewhere between straight and extreme

I'll start using a small tank and maybe a non-hardwired booster ... and a short atty only config too ... and eventually borrow some ideas from the configs you guys have posted here, beautiful pipes and nice looking setups

anyone care to weigh in about their dual batt Protopype for someone who wants to know more ?

thanks

I too am a fan of the proto pipe, maybe because it was the first one made.
For some reason I'm interested in it.

There are some new developments with the VV pipes and Boosters.
All of our CURRENT stand alone booster inventory will tune up to 5.4V. Previous versions only went to 4.8V.
This is something that Artisan did special just for us.
In the future I don't think the boosters will be hard wired into the pipes any longer.
For some reason it makes more sense to me to have the VV feature be optional.
You do need to be careful not to overtighten the boosters, just like anything else they can create a hard short.

As far as the ProtoPype -
That bugger does like to rear it's ugly head about every 3 months.
It's not a bad mod, It's just way over complicated, making it a b* to build.
In my opinion an 18490 pipe will give you nearly the same battery life with a much more proportionate looking pipe.
