A couple announcements.
Brian and Katie are taking a well deserved vacation for the next week and a half.
Instead of shutting down the site, or delaying shipping until they return, I will be filling the office chair.

Please bear with me through the next week and a half. It's been a long time since I've run the office. And to be honest Katie does a far better job than I ever did:)

Also I will be discussing some ideas with Chris about new shorty universals as well as Perhaps colored ones.

Stems have arrived but still need to machined before they will be ready for the site.
We will be taking this up as soon as Brian and Katie return from their Holiday vacation.

Thanks. Where is that made and sold?

Kroatia, on VW but for now sold out. there will be a webshop soon.
Great thing about this unit: you can set it up without oxidizing the mesh and you can lay it on it's side without it leaking.
flavor is great, really nice. there is a video review from me and from AG here on ECF.

I would not be trading any V1's myself.

And now I see why!
I traded a ZAP for a beautiful V1 and I will be looking for more in the new year!
Here's my new baby and I am in love!

With the Phoenix Rebuildable Atomizer and a lovely Peterson stem... can't wait for the shorty Universals (hint hint)
And finally a bliSSful tank of Long Bottom Leaf for at home vaping.

So on the version 1 pipes the spring acts as the fuse? I think I just blew a button... I changed over to my bliSS from my Penelope and the button got really hot. I opened it and the spring is squished. I was using the bliSS earlier with no problem. Is there a short in the bliSS that has caused this? I sold my Provari and only have epipes now 2 version 2 and 1 version 1. I am freaked out on trying the bliSS again to see if I fixed the short. Any suggestions?

Was about to warn you on that.
Yes the spring in the button is a hot spring.
That was the v1 protection. Admittedly not the most effective, but a very immediate warning with a hot finger.
Another later addition in v2 & v2.5 safety is a better insulated and fixed center pin.
Many of the newer rba's and even the old 306 DCA have adjustable center pins. This makes it easier to burry the center pin in the mod and create a short. We have reinforced newer models to compensate.

The biggest and probably the real cause of your short is a 1-2 year old center pin insulator that has been moved around so much over time that it has dry rotted and ripped or cracked.

My best suggestion would be to discontinue use and send it back for an overhaul and safety upgrade.

To add to what Matt told you I would say that since you enjoy rebuildables it would be a good idea to own a multimeter. Its just kinda part of the deal with rebuildables. I generally use my ProVari to test also but since you got rid of yours you should spend a little bit on a meter of some sort. I got a cheap one at Harbor Freight and it works dandy.

And ya, I did kinda say I like the V1 button but there is no doubt that the innovations in the newer pipes are fantastic. I think if you add the good and bad Id rather be using my Steam Pipe. The difference in button is a close call anyhow and the safety features tip the scales. But still, I love my V1's and would never ditch any of them. You just need to be more careful with them and check the connector and atomizers more often.

I am actually not too thrilled with the gennies these days... a little too finicky for me and way too leaky being a pipe guy. (can't keep them standing upright all the time) I also find that they make my set-up too big... I enjoyed learning how to set them up and got pretty good at it but I prefer to just plug an play these days... I have sold/traded them all off except for the bliSS. As for the Penny, I will keep it, it's awesome and doesn't leak! I bought a boatload of pre-wrapped wicks, a little more expensive but like I said I want plug and play. I also got myself a 901 - 510 adapter and have been enjoying dripping. I really like the portability/look and size of the eGo T's that were on clearance too. I have only been vaping 5 months and went straight for the Gennies from day one... I guess I am working backwards.
As for this V1 I got I am really digging the feel, the size is perfect and I like the look of the shank, it feels like a "real" pipe. (not that the V2's don't) this V1 is just such a perfect smooth fit in my hand... I think will send in for a refurbish as recommended.

I love rebuildables but for sure the least finicky one is the Penelope. It gunks up and requires more time to refresh than genesis but I dont mind.

Speaking of which, did you order an Ithaka Matt? It looks pretty amazing with all the new features and with the all tip mouthpiece it should work with the new Shorty universals (wink/hint). Seriously though, it looks pretty cool and being able to use the universals will be pretty rad. Not sure if you've been checking that out. The preorder and pretty much only chance to pick one up in the near future ends tomorrow sometime.

Looks nice but that is some serious cash for an RBA
