Matt, Audits def suck. I deal with them at my office, and i always get stressed, even though i know our books are tight. As for the store, what kind of stuff you going to be selling in the store, since your pipes and steams sell out on the website mad quick, what you going to sell in the store? Anyways, good luck with the audit and floorplan. I hope to get a freehand this week. Im looking for a sherlock style one or pedersen? Im not too sure about the names of different pipes, but if you have some freehands, i will be getting one.

yeah Audits suck, waste of time in my situation... I could be turning!!!
as far as the store... it will be a lounge environment selling probably mostly eGo's to newb's and the mass's. Pipes don't move very fast in retail locations, so not worried so much there. We will also carry other high-end hardware for the F.O.G.'s. The whole store is envisioned to be a steampunk work of art in and of itself. SteamCigs will also house shipping and receiving of all EPM gear. As well as hold the lab for eliquid production. Shortly after the store is up and running you can expect to find some new delicious flavors added to the EPM line. In addition we will probably start a SteamCigs line of flavors that will take on other realms of flavoring that EPM doesn't dabble in.
It should be a lot of fun :)

Hey. Thanks for the referral. I am going to pick one up for myself. I had a quick question regarding your reference to a booster. Are you talking about an ego booster? I have one and it has fried one of my pipes so I am scared to use it. What are the restrictions for it's use? Should only be used on pipes with larger batts (18500/18650/26650)? I have a lot of pipes with various batt sizes but would love to pop one on my 18350 Gandalf's. Thanks in advance. If they will work, where did you order one?

Wow Matt, sounds terrific. Not the audit of course. I have one myself in a month to retain certification and I HATE them. As the owner usually the heat falls right into my lap so I feel your pain. I'm sure you will do fine. Even though I know that doesn't help (people say that to me all the time and it kind of pisses me off..ha). Good luck on the new store. I'm so glad you guys are doing well. Great to see in this economy. Gotta love great customer service and when it gets rewarded.

That sounds great. My friend and I are probably going to open a lounge type place also, selling egos and starter kits. There are only two ecig stores that im aware of in Long Island, so i think we would do very well.. The storefront rent around here is pretty pricey, so i have to shop around a little, but we have already registered the business and are just waiting to pull the trigger. I was going to just open a online shop, but with all the new regulations that are probably going to happen over the next few years, im not sure if that is the way to go.

Boosters are prone to causing shorts with our pipes. This is because of a longer male connection on the booster and a shorter female connection on the pipes. I assume the thought in chinese manufacturing of the connectors was "a sure fit", but instead, if you over tighten just a bit, instant hard short. Also keep in mind that the batteries need to go positive down in our pipes. positive up will fry the booster. many booster users have taken to using an Oring at the base of the eGo threads on the pipe to prevent over tightening.
Mind you the issues with Pipes, Boosters and Shorts will hopefully be resolved with the Booster 2.

store is definitely the way to role any more. WAY to much online competition now days unless you have something very unique to sell.

If all goes well, this upcoming Friday.
Acrylic doesn't need oiling, no dry and finish time, love it. Except that it is a total B* to turn and buff...

I might have to double dip ... That is of there is anything left after purchase 1. Plus m3 on the horizon and freehands anytime. Craziness. I can feel everyone nutting up trying to decide what they can spend and when to spend it! Durin first for me, acrylic next. Man, the next 3 or 4 releases will be AWSOME!!!!

Im not familiar with woodwork at all. I just purchased the wax and want to know how often should I apply it? Also if anyone has any tips besides what is stated on the website. Thanks

When it comes to waxing my wood...

Ah, Nevermind

Don't hang me a curveball like that.

Funny, we've been pondering the same thing. I've seen a couple of shops that are very successful at pulling off the "newbs over here, mid-level stuff here, experts go talk to that guy" walkthrough model. I'd like to make it a relaxed place. Heck, if I get a license we might even make it a pub style place.

Wife will eventually need a storefront for her art and taxidermy. I'll need a warehouse to set up all of my tools again (I have a really pretty OLD drill press from my grandfather, love that thing). We've been thinking about renting a warehouse that is larger than we need for selling and fixing up the back half as a studio. But ... going to probably move to Oregon before we do all of that.

Looks a bit like the "gold rush" on eCig stores has been moving from East to West so we're just hoping we don't lose our claim before we get our butts moved. I'm hesitant to do it here in CO though I think our area might still be fairly ripe.

If we do it, and it will be months away minimum, I already had plans to have a high-end display with examples from some of the finer mod makers including a few pipes and just point people needing those mods to respective web sites and/or explain the whole "list" craze. Mostly just to let newer folks see how much more is out there than is in the typical small eCig store. There are a couple of really TERRIBLE ones out this way (walk in, they have an entire store dedicated to 2 or 3 entry level kits and a menu of liquids, nothing else).

Wow GREAT information Matt. Thanks. Sounds like the best way to go is wait for booster 2. I do not have issues with flavor/th/vapor production. Just wanted to know what my options were. Thanks again.

I've been experimenting. The 18350s (and therefor Matt's pipes) will DEFINITELY produce good flavor without a ton of work if you just make sure to match up a good carto or atomizer. The boosters will be good for when the coils are starting to go and/or when you don't have the perfect match.

For my dual-coil XL cartos I've found that the big problem was the teeeeeny hole that Smoktech put in there. I bored it out to about 2mm and BAM. Instant gratification. It isn't as good as what I'm pulling off my genesis mod but it is great for a second tank.

Pipe of the Day 26 - Astro Acrylic

Speaking of the acrylics. They are simply amazing and everyone has to have one. Still need an elemental though :( This one keeps me happy, however :) I love just staring at it, especially out in the sun.
