The 8" EPM CW is on its way from Croatia. Was purchased and never used. Durin, however, will be getting a Peterson. Wood choice and destiny permitting, an EARTH Peterson that just came in vape MAIL today!!! That's right, vape mail. I bought a few smalls from EPM last week including a couple shorty unis, the Earth Peterson, and my first sampling of the Oak Barrel Cider. Sauce to be discussed soon. The Long Bottom Leaf has changed my entire vaping world. Once I sample this Oak Barel from of the smok DC's Shoog so graciously sent to me I will be talking EPM sauces.

Im not saying you will have a similar fate but I had nothing but bad luck with OBC and those DC from Smok, or any other carto for that matter. Something about the OBC clogs the living you know what out of them. Plus taste goes haywire quickly. I actually have OBC right now in a Vapeonly BCC and its been in there for a couple weeks now. Working great. I also drip it a lot. But I never put that one in a carto.

Well, I may be a bit naive but I am not an RBA or a dripper or whatever else. I want plug and play and so I have been a DCT guy. So what are my other options?

I dont think things like VapeOnly BCC, Vivi Nova and Iclear 30 for examples are "rebuildables" per say. Yes they can be rebuilt but you dont need too. Not anymore than twisting the new head on. Not building it, just screwing it on like a carto to a device. So ya, just get a clearo or two.

That said, rock it in a carto and see how it gets along for you. What the heck, might as well try. Id use a standard size one though instead of the super humongo Smok DC ones.

(RE the dwarf) I'm surprised this didn't speak to anybody.

It whispered to me, I love the dwarves, but ... I've already blown around $500 in the last 2 weeks on various vape-related supplies (sort of ... 1/2 of it is in tools like a good soldering iron, tanks, etc ... going to make some stuff)

Some of it isn't for me since I'm setting my wife up with her first "better-than-Blu" rig which means she needs almost everything but juice. She doesn't want a pipe herself and hates BIG mods so for now she's going with a nice ego twist (2 of them + a backup standard battery) a couple of decent Artemas tanks and a nice RDA. Of course ... well ... she doesn't KNOW she's getting more than a single ego twist ... but I felt bad spending that much on myself lately and she was still dealing with a Blu.

At this point I've got a full breadboard set up for making sure I know what I'm doing before I start building some stuff. And I spent some on tanks and a cheap VV/VW mod to play around with.

Plus ... I gotta save my $ for that Mjolnir. That is going to be a day of stress!

I sold my old motorcycle and our house-that-destroyed-our-finances in another state finally sold (for a loss but we'll still get decent money from it and no more wasted mortgage payments). So ... I think I'll be ready for a good pipe again soon :)

Hey Matt,

Regarding the VapeSafe2 ...

I want to make sure of 2 things:

... For future modding knowledge:
1) That there is no -problem- using the HD instead of the Lite (ie, the HD has advantages over the Lite but the Lite doesn't have anything over the HD except slightly lower price).

It looks like both will protect stacked IMRs so I'm assuming the HD's note about being for high voltage is for when using something to pump even more voltage. Will the HD protect a pair of stacked IMRs that were up-volted past 7.4v?

... To protect my CIY block:
2) Is the VapeSafe2 in the 2.5 pipes the Lite or HD model?

Looks like the HD if the web pictures are accurate, just want to be sure, I might do something funky and want to make sure I don't instantly overload it.

Thanks :)

the VapeSafe HD will carry a hold current of 3.5 amps. The Lite is only slightly lower. If you push the amps much higher than 3.5 the VapeSafe HD will trip. It's guaranteed trip current is 7 amps. IMO there is no need to vape higher than 3.5-4 amps, that is plenty enough current and already a bit too high for comfort. Our pipes come with a built in HD.

It just didn't SPEAK to me, nor did (despite the beautiful wood) the birdseye maple dwarf like this blast from the past did that I missed out on:

Plus I kind of am hoping for a big battery dwarf. The leadwood Dwarven Dragon I just couldn't wrap my mind around philosophically...dragons and dwarves are arch enemies. I considered that pipe such an oddity...and as such almost had to force myself to buy it. :) Well, none of the pipes FOUND ME last week. I am hoping Brian the Dwarf Master has something in store for me this week because I am ready for Durin to return home to me!

Dragon has been the name of the "Standing" bigger battery pipes for a few years now. The name originally had nothing to do with middle earth. That Dwarve was a Dwarve in the Dragon line. Sorry if that bothers you, but that is name of the line.

Do you think we'll ever see any more of the bottom-feeder Dragons?

Honestly it's not likely. Bottom feeders are a PAIN to build. Not to mention the tech and use is archaic anymore. I will admit that they would make a nice limited edition run, but really, it's not likely.

Matt, I order the wax from your site and would like to know how often to apply it.

Thanks

If your pipe gets dirty or dull give it a buff. It kinda depends on use... I wouldn't think you would need to polish more than once a month. I have however done 3-4 coats in one evening. Just don't over do it or you might go blind... Sorry, couldn't resist.

Yeah, that makes sense. I seem to recall them starting around $250, too. And there are considerably more options out there now. Back then it was dodgy cartos or dripping...

Yeah, it's kinda funny to think about how far we've come in 2 years. Hell the CE2 MAP tank was barely out 2 years ago.

Never could catch the sampler in stock and I hate buying 30ml of juice just to discover I hate it after 10 drops...

I picked up the sampler on my first pipe order for the same reason. Found that all sauces were very good. The Cider, Peach and Cough medicine weren't as overpowering as I thought they'd be because I've had some similar mixes from other vendors that could strip paint.
