So you like it?

Seriously - I love my 650 model, but given a choice, the 490 trumps it large. Especially now, with the pass-through and compatible car charger. Mine is the older model (with the 2200mah's) but the battery pack still lasts forever. It doesn't LOOK much bigger, but there is pretty large difference in both size and weight.

And since the V2 just came out, I'm thinking there aren't immediate plans for a V3 (laughing).

And, not to be (too) glib, if I want something at 100W, well, I reckon I'll just start smoking again.

Sub-Ωers need the wattage headroom in order to do their thing. If appropriate batteries can be sourced, I anticipate a 200W mod by the end of 2015. It's overkill for virtually every application, but, because we're humans, you can bet that someone will go sub .1Ω, and they'll need the power to do it.

And I'll still be hanging out, in Standard (low) mode, kicking it up at 8-10 watts. Woo-hoo!

I've been vaping Oak Barrel Cider by Pipe Sauce via my Kayfun 3.1 clone with a 1.6Ω micro coil (28g Kanthal) at 12.5W. Pure heaven.

Tonight I'm likely to throw a dripper on there and take Stan up to high mode.

Yes. Stan.

I'm thinking of having a custom vinyl sticker made for him.

G'morning Pents/Gents. How are you and Stan doing today?

Welp, Mr. T, you may very well have a point for the high wattage requirements for the subohmers, but I know I'm going to be riding that coaster in the car with you, DPL. 8-10w suits me just fine!

I'm the one in the purple shirt, by the way.

BTW:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the EPM vape quality. Very smooth so far. We'll see how Stan performs with the dripper. I'm likely to start with a .8Ω dual coil somewhere around 23W. I'll move the wattage up from there.

I'll test the .6Ω limit on it too, but probably another night.

Can you guys think of anything specific I should be testing/doing with this MOD for my review? Can you think of anything I should cover with this MOD? I want to live with this thing for a couple of weeks before I even start a review of it.

Stan and I are attached at the hip (or palm as the case may be). He's scoring high marks.

I'm not terribly interested in riding the edge in my sub-Ω adventures. I have 1 atty that is coiled at .5Ω and that seems low enough for me (I have 2 other sub-Ω coils at .8Ω and .9Ω). I might try to go lower at some point "just to see" but I'm not a cloud chaser and have little interest in testing my batteries. I'm a Kayfun kind of guy, regardless of how big they are. Well made clones (I use Hcigar 3.1 clone and EHPro KFL+ v2 clone) can be had for reasonable prices, and they vape exceptionally well. At least they can be tamed with a nano kit and a Nano SS2 top cap.

I have one Kayfun of juice, however, that won't play nice with the EPM which makes me sad because it's one of my few ADVs. It burns quickly at anything above about 9W (less than 4v with the atomizer, though I forget the specific resistance right now). I'm almost sure it's one of 2 issues, neither having to do with the vaporizer itself. It does this on a freshly charged mech too if I don't watch myself.

1) The juice is too thick to vape in a Kayfun (or at least this particular build).
2) This juice is a notorious wick and coil gunker. I mean it gets nasty in there! I probably need to change the wick and do a dry burn between every tank (which is annoying), but for that smooth chocolate-y minty flavor, a daily coil change is worth it!

Glad to hear you're liking it, B. Smooth, it most certainly is. Best vape I've ever had, hands down (unlike Ms. Darling in the purple shirt, living life with her arms permanently UP).

Welcome to The (Stateside) Club of Five. Which is really just a club of three, if you count humans instead of devices. The meetings are small but we're able to keep the dues low because of it. One day soon, we might be joined by a fourth (human). Time will tell.

The good thing is that there's a gang of folks down-under (aka World Headquarters), who are more than just a little fun. Thankfully, they usually tolerate us.

But if we start showing up at their meetings with Wal-Mart bags and riding mowers, well, they might just throw us to the crocs (and I don't mean those stupid shoes).

Hey!

Living on some land in rural Central Kentucky, I live and breathe Walmart bags and riding mowers!

Where are you and DPL from? Perhaps we could unite siblings at some point and vape away!

I'm thinking on a route to increase exposure here in the states for the EPM. Perhaps working out a deal with Eric to distribute them here which might improve his sales some (assuming he would welcome an increase in sales), and significantly decrease shipping charges for US customers (I'm sure that $66 scares a lot of people off). It would also help to have things like batteries and chargers available locally so that one needn't pay AUS>US shipping on something so small yet vitally important. I'm not so attached to the exclusivity that I would mind getting them out to US customers. No one here has even heard of the EPM (I wouldn't have except for this thread which lead me to the Aussie thread), much less seen one or vaped one. And that just isn't right. It's too good a device to keep hidden down under!

Not at the moment, Mr. T. I have a feeling that after you really get to know Stan a bit, you will have your own list of coverable items for your review. And I know... I welcome it!

Sign me up!!!!!! I'm a bit of a distance (SoCal), but they say it's a small world ... after all.

By the way, I was in Kentucky one nite...

Hey bGT - sorry about the delay here.

To your question & points, I'm in CT and you know now that Kat's in CA. So the three of us cover a fair amount of real-estate.

On the EPM's, I honestly don't know what Eric's goals are with them. To the best of my knowledge, this is not his primary business, and is more a labor of love & pride, than profits & publicity. That being said, I think he knows we'd all be happy to help him publicize & distribute them more, but only if he wishes it that way.

For me, I'm happy either enjoying it quietly, but would be equally happy shouting it from the rooftops. To date I've kind of played it down the middle. While I (obviously) think it's the best mod ever, I also have zero doubt that there are those who will disagree; some of whom have already expressed such opinions, both here and (also) in Adam's video-review thread. I get it.

I'm just glad I've got mine. And if Eric wants more publicity, I'll be happy to join forces and head for those rooftops with you both. In the meantime, and to directly quote from Adam's video, "...before we get into that, I might have a quick vape actually."

Cheers, mates! A busy Friday beckons and demands my attention. I will return later, almost certainly beaten, battered, torn & frayed. But happily vaping away too.

Just as a quick note, for I've got the impression that neither of you have tried, Stan is happily firing a .6 ohm coil (the floor listed in the specs - and to be honest it's a .59 ohm coil) at the full 34 watts.

Clouds ahoy!

And I'd write something pithy, but I'm too nicced out to do so.

Looking good, Stanley.

Are you going with the sticker idea or still contemplating it? I like the concept but I'm not sure I could find it within myself to put anything on mine.

And I'm a wrapper, of sorts.

Tap, tap, tap... Talk.

If I do get a sticker I'm going to have it made such that it will only be a black background, and it will use negative space (the MOD itself) to form the design. It will be very unobtrusive. And if I don't like it I can take it off. But from what I'm imagining, it will look pretty awesome.

Though Stan is a stud; he doesn't need any embellishment to look pretty awesome. His aesthetic is right up my alley.

I dig 70s electronic aesthetics, and medieval (I'm a trained medievalist).

A MOD I ordered today (the wife is being extra nice, though I will have to sell my Roller).
