I am trying to make a cranapple flavor. I purchased TFA cranberry but it has ethyl alcohol in it. Is there anything I need to do toot after or before mixing? Or should I not use it at all and find something else? Or not worry about t at all. I plan on using the cranberry flavoring at 5% at first with 10% Apple.
What brand is it, & where did you get it?

Welcome and glad you joined.

Nothing to worry about. You are new, suggest just steep it the number of recommended days (1 to 2 weeks should be about right for a fruit mix--you might want to taste test it as it steeps to find your happy spot) and you will be all right.

Who's the flavoring manufacture. I would not use flavorings made with ethyl alcohol. Most flavoring made with alcohol are made with a consumable grade grain alcohol and not ethyl alcohol. Ethyl alcohol is a non-consumable grade alcohol like denatured rubbing alcohol. It will not kill you but it taste like crap.

Most rubbing alcohol is made of isopropyl alchohol which is toxic if ingested but a few are made from denatured ethanol/ethyl alcohol. Hand sanitizers are ethyl alcohol based but have additives that make it not fit for ingestion - denatured. Ethyl alcohol or ethanol is grain alcohol, however, there are levels of purity that needs to be met for its use. GNS is beverage grade fit for drinking, made from corn or wheat, and is of the highest purity. FCC is food grade made from either fermentation or synthesized from ethylene. NF grade is meant for topical applications e.g. hand sanitizer. And then there is fuel grade ethanol, needless to say, don't ingest it. If its graded for flavoring, food, drink ethanol is safe, in moderation, of course.
