Never run into the corner store or grocery store of the convenience store out to re-recruit me maybe because around here the walk a fine line selling analogs as it is.There have been pushed to remove analog from pharmacies, grocery stores and so on - leaving them alone at convenience stores. This would be great for tobaccos stores but not sure why there has not been raised a ruckus about the other places - give that the tobacco salesmen aren't selling as much to grocery stores and pharmacies as they are selling out slowly and obviously not re-stocking.

But I have the almost constant problem in the tobacco shop I go to. SO, you say, what can I expect - they sell the stuff. True but they also sell a wide variety of e-cigs of all types and all sorts of paraphernalia related to inhaling anything. This was the same tobacco store whose owner though I smoked too much and got me involved in vaping and to whom I have paid a lot of bucks to for because they were such a big mover in my life change. As amused as I was at first about him perhaps cutting his foot off by losing money no longer selling me 2-3 packs of analogs a day, I have spend a great deal on vaping materials there.

However, I now know that there may have been some method in this that did not pan out as expected for the owner because I stopped totally with the analogs. He now always offers me a pack of my old 'usuals' and has gone to the point of showing me the cartons he stocked up on when he could count on my high purchase of analogs that are not longer moving out of his store. This is said with a pout and a bit of the guilt push. I feel bad for him but can't he return them or something? I am not going back to analogs simply because he he has stocked up on my brand back in the days. I suspect now that he thought he could get the best of both world and have me vaping as a hobby and spend money on those supplies along with the regular analog and I would spend even more money LOL.

I doubt he was plotting as such but he is sure disappointed I no longer buy analogs and reminds me everyday that they are there for me, I I probably should have a pack around. Actually I do have one from way back when i bought 2 packs the day after I started vaping 'just in case' and I never smoked the second one. Of course he does not get that :)

I often wonder if that guilt isn't what helps keep my roommate from giving ecigs a good try and absolutely refusing to give up smoking. He's grown attached to the ladies at the tobacco shop. I on the other hand have dealt with the owner trying to give him my pipe tobacco business way back (buy these flavors of this brand you already carry and I'll buy a tin a week from you) and think he's so stupid he deserves to lose all his business.
I've been tempted to go in and see what their ecig things are but I'm sure they're limited to Blu and know there's no way the owner would listen to any reason about getting better quality even if I guaranteed him that if he got Joyetech supplies and Johnson Creek liquid he could have me back as a customer. But I know his attitude is I can buy what he sells.

Why not tell the people in the store who are trying to sell you cigs, that you will make a purchase only when they start carrying ecigs! Fortunately, I have only had one negative response. Everyone at work was happy for me and supportive when I quit smoking and started vaping. The sales manager piped up and said "you haven't quit, you have your ecig". Grrrrrr! The funny part was when everyone wanted to see my ecig and I pulled out my eGo and took a draw on it at a monthly meeting at a restaurant. My boss was dumbfounded and said we needed to get the last remaining smoker in the office one of them! :)

And just as a side note,...Starbucks is banning cigs and ecigs! I posted on their fb page that I had shared the news with every vaper I knew and every vape supplier that has ever received one of my hard earned dollars. Someone commented that I would have to "ban" California, Uraguay, France, Columbia and I think 1 other place. I thanked them for the heads up, and linked them to CASAA!

I have noticed the store owner in my neighborhood, uber convenient, 2 blocks away from home, always putting a pack down when I walk up to the counter. Not his fault, that's what I bought day in and day out for years and years past. I just say No thanks, I'm good, buy what I came in for, and leave guilt-free. Of course, there are a lot of other customers who will buy the Newports, so they won't go stale back there.

Also, almost everyone I've talked to about vaping has just one question for me: Will you be able to quit that too?

Erm, what were we talking about here? I've noticed that when that comes out, I'm just done with the conversation, smile-and-nod and walk away. People who aren't into our hobbies have no clue why we are so passionate about them. They don't hear me say "I just bought a Vamo and the shipping from Hong Kong takes so long" they hear "blah blah blah Hong Kong blah blah blah." Kind of the expression I get when my s/o starts talking to me about nail guns and compressors. . .

OP, please don't give these "friends" any more of your time. They might give up teasing you if you don't give them a reaction, other than blowing a big plume their way. Your ECF friends are behind you 100%!!!

1 day after quitting nicotine, ulcerative colitis loses its protection from nicotine and flares increasing the risk of colon cancer by 3%
But they don't want you to know that potential so don't tell anyone :)

I bet switching to ecigs with nicotine slows the circulation and heart repairs somewhat if you're in need of repairs.

The difference of how I felt switching to tobacco pipes vs ecigs I'd also say the respiratory function is delayed slightly but not much (like 1 week vs 2 weeks), probably depends on how many dry hits you get.

Like I hear the most asinine reasons for why Im the one that's got the problem, it gets old. Is it just because I live in a place where nobody knows anything about ecigs or does everybody get this? lol

I get funny looks and comments all the time. The worst one alluded to the opinion that I was vaping because I wasn't man enough and couldn't "handle a real cigarette".

I used to get that from a few of my co-workes. Telling me how I should just smoke because vaping is lame. It's not worth acknowledging really. Though if you they say it's "not manly" or "gay" ask them what's so manly about paying a billionaire to suck his ....?.

Seriously though sounds like they are just jealous that you found a way to quit. They are curious but scared to try it. If you fail then they don't have to feel like they are the ones messing up. It's much easier that way. Not saying it's malicious or anything like that, they probably don't even know they are doing it. That's how it sounds to me in these cases. I say don't let it get to you, given time you will probably get a few converts.

I've had various comments from smokers, from a snort and wave of the hand followed with "They're toys. They don't work, I've tried them." (to which my coworker answers for me "Really ? He hasn't smoked since February !") and I just smile and exhale vapor, to the clerk at "my" store holding up a pack of Marlboro 100's asking, "Still no ?" and when I smile and shake my head he says loudly, "My MAN !! Just testing. Good job !!".

People like that are jealous and insecure. They need to say stupid things like that to feel better about themselves and to validate their ignorance and dumb decisions. Secretly, they know that you are the better man. I say %$#@ them and stand up for what you believe in and ignore them. Chances are that they will not live as long as you do anyway. In situations like that it isn't even worth the effort to try and educate the obviously ignorant and unwilling nature of those people.

Or some friends and coworkers that still smoke trying to convince me I should smoke again, or that vaping isn't manly or its "gay" for some reason, I guess doing the most damage possible to myself proves I'm dumb enough to be considered a man? I dunno.

If someone said to me vaping isn't manly, I would look at them and say: "...and dying a slow painful death is how to be manly?"

Seriously real men don't give into peer pressure that is for kids. Real men don't feel the need to pass a "man test" to prove it. So kudos to you OP for being a real man and doing your own thing without needing any approval from those around you.

I've seen cancer patients, shared wards with them.

If that's manly, I'd rather you think I'm effeminate actually thanks.

edit - crosspost with above... What he said ^^^ :)

I've had mixed receptions.

1. You mention methols / cools - my Ovale menthol 6mg juice - if you close your eyes you wouldn't know the difference

I pulled out my ego at my local bar poker game and one guy kept using it (I had a second with me so didn't mind) and he even said 'man that thing looks really BLING!'

My father who is in his sixties and his friend who is also, both 2 packs a day smokers and 'hard basterds' had a try of my ego with a Janty tobacco 16mg juice and couldn't believe that it wasn't smoke.

At a casino poker game two dudes kept saying 'put your faggy e-cig away and start smoking real cigs again for (*&^% sake. I think they were trying to put me on tilt though and were teaming up, I reckon there were five of them signalling and colluding so left.

My friend whose mother died of cancer and was a smoker is very happy with me switching over.

Other friends who are 1 - 2 pack a day smokers, tried it, didn't like it but don't comment either way on me using it.

I learned to care that what I think is all that matters and personally the OP has more restraint than me not having a serious go at those guys trying to taunt him into buying cigs again!

I think for many years ecigs were all about the men. It's only recently you get pretty colors, jewels, bling. Used to be basic black, stainless steel, lots of large devices. Wonder if this word will get censored? Phallic symbols.

OP, are you running around with a pink provari mini? :D
? I use black Volts or a stainless twist

That sounds quite manly to me. And you probably aren't the type of person to take a whole lot of trash-talk from your peers, so just let it go out your other ear. The cig sellers can't have any more of your money, spend it on what you like. They'll recover!

I am starting to realize that as someone 6'5" tall and 260 lbs my life is apparently quite different from most people.
Some of the things you guys have to put up with really suck.

Nobody has ever said anything to me that was in any way derogatory.
I wish it was that way for the rest of you.
