EGO joyetech usb + wall charger?

I've had Spinners for well over a year, from 3 different vendors and have been using my trusty EGO charger sets and never had a problem.

I have 3 sets of these chargers, so I know it's not the charger. :)

Just ordered 2 new spinners from a trusted vendor (but new to me) and they won't charge on these charger sets.

Thoughts? All I can think of is that Vision changed something in their design, OR, these are knockoffs. But even knockoffs charge up usually, right?

Yes. set the batt at 4.2. Yes, the chargers are good (charged all my other spinners and egos today), yes the lights are working on the USB pigtail.......when trying to charge these new Spinners, the light stays green and never goes red.

I don't know what else to do but looking for someone who had similar experience.

(This is the stuff that makes me think about giving up vaping, if I counted up the "back-and-forths" and "mailing things back" I've had to do since I started vaping, and added up all those hours, I should get a paycheck. ;))

Are the new spinners dead? Just asking cuz' that's the only reason I can think of that they wouldn't go ahead and charge.

Not dead. Vaped on one all day already. Started to seem weak so I put on charger. Light stays green on USB, so I can't tell if anything is happening. Just never seen this happen before.

Try turning the battery off before charging.

No difference. :(

I wonder if the Center Post of the Battery is Not Making Contact with the Charger?

Well it works fine with every clearomizer I've placed on it (T3, PTII, Boge Cartomizer) so I REALLY don't want to be prying up center posts on 2 brand new $25.00 batteries and risk damaging them.

Stumped. :(

I'm confused about which brand batteries you have. My brand name Joyetech variable voltage batteries are called Twists--not Spinners and the only green light is on the charger when they are fully charged. It blinks red alternating with green until they are fully charged then it changes to solid green. The battery itself has a white/bluish led that lights up when the fire button is pressed. It flashes 10 times when it detects a short, the battery is too low to fire, or when first connected to a charger. It flashes 5 times when powered on or off.

Can you post a picture of your battery?

In that case, throw 'em away. OR take da advice given and 'lift' both the batt and charger center posts just a lil' tad.

OR, I'll pay da $hipping and ya can send 'em to me...

Hi 03,

This is my 4th set of Vision Spinner batteries...been using them successfully since they came out. I also own Joyetech Ego Twists.

So I am very familiar with the light-show features and charging "behaviors" of these batteries. Which, as you describe, are very PREDICTABLE.

(You probably got confused when I said Joyetech.....I am using genuine Joyetech eGO wall wart and EGO USB cable....perfectly the correct chargers for ego batts, including Spinners.)

What I am trying to determine (in the face of many other posts over last few months about problematic Spinner charging) is if anyone has experienced the exact thing I am experiencing. Once I started to add up some of the things people were posting about, I realized there are knockoffs floating around out there. Some users report they have to turn the batt ON to charge, others report they have to turn if OFF. (you will see later on in my post that mine will only charge when ON, but still displays odd charging behaviors).

Because the charging behaviors of a Genuine Spinner Battery are predictable. They are designed to work a certain way, not 5 different ways. so as I started reading posts, and now experiencing what I am experiencing, I am left to believe that there are lots of knockoffs being sold as genuine, OR that Vision changed their product since last year.

So, I cleaned everything, which wasn't necessary, since the batts are new and I clean all my battery contacts every 2 days anyway and pulled the center posts up a bit......but nothing has changed.

Here is what the new Spinners are doing:
Plug them in while on. The USB cable light never goes red. It stays green. No charging taking place.
Plug them in while off. The USB cable light never goes red. It stays green. No charging taking place.

Picked up Spinner battery while still attached to the charger and plugged into wall outlet...... press the button 3 times, finally, the USB cable light does go red which means it has checked voltage and is presumably charging.

And, the Spinner battery has to be in the "on" position for this little maneuver to work.
If you turn the Spinner battery off before trying to charge it, it won't charge.

This is NOT normal behavior.

I contacted the vendor, got the "mail them back and if we find them to be defective....yada yada"........so I get to be w/out the batts, and send back on my dime

Glen, It's really sweet of you to post the video. Ive been using Spinners for over a year. I have 5 of them. I've been vaping on ego type batts since July of 2012. I've already adjusted the center post... I really do know how to do that after 17 months of using ego batts. ;) I have had to do that a few times.

It's a moot point now, because one of the batteries has stopped working completely after the first 12 hours of ownership.
The battery won't shut off.

My 5 other "real" Spinners never charged or worked this way, and have been pretty dependable, so these defects or clones or whatever they are going back to whence they came.

It sound like those New Spinners are Just Wacked.

I would just RMA them.
