I suspect it would depend on the type of gunk and how much of it is non carbonized organics. I've not had any real foaming when I tried it myself. Burned on gunk is pain to get off.

Funny you should mention the peroxide in the ears thing. I always used it to clean my sons ears and it is still one of his comfort things. When he feels bad he wants peroxide in his ears. My mom recently got hearing aids and they gave her drops to clean her ears. It looked like VG to me and I don't think they did any good. Partly because she is to heavy to really lean her head to the side well. After days of the drops I finally convinced her to use the peroxide and she was shocked at how much better she could hear once we used it.

I sometimes soak Vivi heads in diluted peroxide for a couple of days and then rinse them really well. I also (in the old old days of bridged 800s) occasionally used a solution of phosphoric acid and then rinsed in distilled water with a bit of baking soda with a final water rinse. Used to use the phosphoric on my beer fittings. Took them right to bare stainless... Wouldn't recommend it, though...

I use 50/50 H2O - Peroxide soak then a good rinse with hot tap water. Gave up the hootch long long time ago so I'll leave the Vodka alone.
The peroxide is a good cleaner and anti-septic. Feel need to sanitize your new gear including drip tips? De-funk tanks? Peroxide will do 'er!

Sounds like peroxide is a fabulous idea to clean out my ce4 clearomizers. Will give it a try. Thanks everyone

No, but my son never cleaned his battery connections or chargers, I used Krud Kutter and a soft toothbrush on them. It's 100% safe, biodegradable and all natural ingredients, but at full strength will strip paint! They were gleaming again, and no ill effects on the equipment. I've used it on my clearos with good success and no aftertaste, so I'm soaking a cartomizer in it now, just for grins.

I need to make a home depot stop so I'm going to pick some up. When you use this stuff do you dilute it for your clearos or use it full strength?

that's a great idea, i'm going to try it. the hyd perox you buy in stores is already way diluted, just a few percent. high strength H2O2 is dangerous and creates a lot of heat. a lot so its hard to get. Searching for another way to clean clearos i just tried vodka in the small syringe and blunt tip needle. jet stream right on the coil. it didnt do much but its only 40% ethanol.

dry burn works but it makes a bad smell and scorches the wick under it and i've killed a few replacement coils doing it. it shorts out or something sometimes but i still do it if the build up is bad

H2O2 is also highly unstable which is why it comes in those dark bottles, not that it's explosive, lol! If you leave it out, it turns into H2O as the extra bonded oxygen is released. :) Thanks college Chem!

Congratulations to both of you. I've been smoke free since March of this year and haven't had a drink since August of 1989. Not a problem with it just gave it up in support of a family member.
