About 3 months after I switched to vaping, I decided to try a cigarette, just to see if I was really done with them. Every time I had quit before, that first cigarette was the best thing since sliced bread. Not this time. I couldn't finish 2 drags - it was disgusting, and left what almost felt like a greasy film in my mouth. That's when I knew I was free, after 40+ years of smoking.

I've never really had any cravings. I did really miss the simplicity of just lighting up. But, that's about it. And, I don't even miss that anymore.

I figured it's all about the habit. The nicotine has never been as much of an issue with me. The habit was the big thing. So, I just spent all my energy on developing my new habit.

I vaped for 2 solid weeks, everything was going fine. Had a craving for an analog, bought a pack, smoked it and went back to analogs. Yeah it tasted disgusting, hurt my lungs, smelled bad and was nothing near the tasty, tasty Boba's I've come to love. But I always have an issue with the added chemicals they put in analogs, and after I stop them I crave it for two weeks.

It's a vicious cycle. I need to get over the 1 month hump so I stop craving that chemical, but it's difficult with 4 teenagers living under the same roof.

About a month into vapeing I tried a cigarette but not for the reasons most have stated. At the time there was a bit of discussion in the forum about vapeing dark liquids and having it stain your teeth. Being a dental hygienist, this peaked my interest even though I was pretty sure it wouldn't. So I placed a tissue over my PV and took several drags off it through the tissue...then the same with a real cigarette (didn't even inhale so technically I'm not sure if this counts)...choke, gag, cough, OMG the taste and the stench! Long story short, vapeing does not stain your teeth.
After that little experiment I had to brush my teeth twice, wash my face and hands, and finally just gave up and took a shower plus wash my hair to get rid of the stench! Will I ever try another cigarette....a resounding NO! Am I going to tell another vaper not to try one....nope. I think we all still have a bit of "kid" in us no matter how old we get, remember when your mom said "don't touch", yeah, you all know exactly what the first thing you did was.............

I actually quit before they started making the paper on cigs flame ......ant, and I tried one when the camel crushs came out because i thought they were a cool idea. After the first puff, all I could taste was chemicals, no tobacco taste at all. I tried a few more puffs, because the menthol throat hit was phenomenal, but other than that, chemicals, that's all I could taste. I don't know if that was because of the new paper they were using or not, but it was not satifying at all. i haven't had a single one since then.

I almost threw an 808 out my window on my first drive vaping

Lol! I think it would make an awesome movie if all vaping mishaps could be reinacted, including the above mentioned and all the others, like for eg. flying driptips, full tanks that slip of cartos, PV's falling out of pockets into airplane toilets etc. etc.
