Ever "try" a cigarette after you became a full-time vaper?

When I first started vaping my expectations were that it would only help me cut down on cigarettes. I decided I wasn't going to drive myself crazy with nicotine cravings and would have a cigarette if I felt the slightest need for one so I left packs with lighters in my normal handy spots all over the house.

Surprisingly, I never craved a cigarette from my first vape and basically just forgot about the all the strategically placed cigarettes. I was preoccupied with doing something and unconsciously lit a cigarette about a week after I started vaping. A partial drag tasted worse than what it must taste like to chew on a filthy ashtray. I spent the next five minutes in the bathroom trying not to retch and gargling with mouthwash like a madwoman. My remaining four packs of cigarettes went into the freezer to be given to someone who needs them with a card from my favorite vaping seller.

The lighters went into a drawer when I used one to "light" my cig-alike.

I am suprised at the number of "nubies" which are switching to vaping every day, myself included. I went to a wedding and reception yesterday and used my VOLT exclusively among a group of analog users. They were all impressed and I recommended they investigate ecigs as an alternative. I have tried one or two analogs in the past several weeks, but would never go back. They are much stronger than vaping, give me a head rush, smell, and no longer satisfy me. However, since I made my own for many years at 70 cents a pack, vaping is actually more expensive at least starting up.

Best Wishes to All

Compared to a Twist and Vivi Nova with 50/50 juice, cigarettes don't have enough "smoke" in them! Lol

I enjoy the "clouds", except when I am at a hockey game with a mini eGo, .9 Fluxomizer, and 100% PG juice. I hold it in for 5-10 seconds and nothing comes out. No need to hide the Mini, since nothing visible comes out.

You can't do that with a cigarette! It's hard to hide the flame of the lighter, the mess the ashes make, the smoke and odor, and the .... left over. P.S. Did I mention the odor? Lol

Nope. I quit a 35-year cigarette habit and haven't smoked a single puff in six months now.

It took me nearly five months of smoking and vaping together before I finally quit the cigarettes. During that time I went a month without smoking and bought a pack one evening. I guess I was curious to see what I was missing. I smoked a few.

Well, the Camels weren't all that much. I smoked a few. The next morning my clothes stunk like cigarettes again and I tossed the rest of the pack into the garbage can and returned to vaping.

No big deal. I've been cigarette-free for six months now.

It's been nearly 2 months since I started vaping and during that time I've had 6 cigs I think. 2 early on when I was still trying to get over not smoking. I smoked 2 more because of stressing out over a job interview. It tasted like crap and I was gagging and coughing on the first drag because it's been a while since I last had a smoke but the main reason it helped me was just being able to hold the cig between my fingers, finish and flick it away.

Just yesterday though, I had 2 more. Didn't even want them but my sister came back from Hong Kong with these Orange and Apple flavored cigs that she said was really good so I went ahead and tried them and they tasted like crap, nothing like vaping fruity flavors at all.

For the most part, I have no urge to smoke a cig at all. I think I just like holding the thing in my fingers and the satisfaction I get from being able to "finish" something and then flicking it away.

I switched to vaping straight away with no transition analogue/vape period. After a week on a night out I crumbled and had two analogues, leaving me feeling very sick and consequently redecorating the bathroom. I had consumed a few beers as it was my birthday, but I'm laying the fault directly at the feet of the analogues and not the alcohol!

i've tried...can't get past the first two drags or so. it's so funny how much i dislike the taste of analogs now...i LOVED smoking! but i get so much more satisfaction out of vaping-the flavor, the feeling, the variations of setups, the TOYS!!! hopefully, it will last with me, but who knows? i've got a lot of $$ invested already in this vaping thing-i think of it as dropping a bad habit for a new hobby.

I have been vaping for over three years now, and I've had a handful of cigarettes in that time. I don't ever crave them, but I don't really try to avoid them either. I just don't want them anymore. But every few months I'll have one just for fun. They taste pretty nasty, they produce hardly any smoke, and they are lacking in the throat hit department. I don't hate cigarettes, I just really don't care about them at all anymore.

Nope...once I finished off the carton that I had I never smoked another one...that was over 2 1/2 years ago :)

Wow congrats!

I allowed myself to have the odd one here and there after starting to vape a few years back. Needless to say that did NOT work in my favor. I mean, if you can have one... what's stopping you having two, or three? Tomorrow or next week is always the next 'give up smoking' time. Kind of like that new diet and exercise exercise regime we promise ourselves to do - starting Monday lol.

That is why there is such a big difference in my ECF join date and stopped smoking banner at the bottom of my posts! Since I gave up smoking this last time (just over a year ago) I haven't touched a single cigarette. I am a non smoker - the end!!!

ha yeah i had tried one around my 2 year vapeversarry. I have to say it was one of the worst things ever. My wife smokes and i hang out with smokers so the smell of smoke doesnt bother me at all but smell and taste are 2 completely different things. I took one drag and said F this and put it out. I do still crave them sometimes when drinking but i always have some kind of PV in my pocket, and some more in the car lol.
