Just wanted to crow and tell you that I made a box mod with the Okami, OKR-T/6 and it works like a champ,,,,I'm so excited. After my first bomb and complete bumble it sure picked me up when I put the batteries in and there was vapor and lights. I checked the voltage across the atty and it was 4.5 volts. Thank you every one for all your generous help and willingness to share and making me a happy vaper.

So I made an Evercool Mod with a free sample of the PTR08100W.
I read on here that Ti will send up to 4 samples. Will they send 3 more of the PTR08100W if I request them or do all the samples have to be different?

I have a Plug-in Power Module - Non-Isolated POL - PTN04050C - TI.com in my cart to request as a sample If you have to pick different items.

Or are there different items that TI carries that I can request that are more similar to the PTR08100W so I can make myself a few more of these awesome mods

Finally got the chance to sit down and make one of these suckers. Took me forever to build it, and of course the ratshack switch I put in there was doa (shoulda checked it!) so I had to rewire a spare in. Getting sick of red buttons...

Took me forever to cram it all in there. Had to score out some plastic from the bottom. I shoulda checked the clearances when I was soldering the caps to the board. I left them too high. The extra wire doesn't help either but I don't trust my soldering very much so that's just the way I do it.

I haven't even played around with it yet. I just started vaping on the voltage it was at when I first fired it up which was 4.3 (2.3ohm atty). I used to have a boosted 5V box and that thing wasted a ton of juice so I know I'm not gonna go that high.

Huge thank you to all who contributed to this thread. It's good to be in the VV club. :D

Yeah, they'll work the same.

A 50k ohm one should be idea. A range of 10-50k is ideal I think...that gives you 3.7 to 6.6v. But you may want to put an extra resistor in series with it to prevent you from turning the voltage up too high.

what about the wattage of the POT?

Hello Everyone,

I'm getting ready to build a EverCool Box Mod. I cant wait it's going to be some such fun. I've had a heck of a time searching this thread for a detailed parts list and cross referencing digi-key.com I've come up with a nice parts list. (this should make it easy for others after me), and was hoping someone with allot of electronics experience can take a look.

Please let me know if these parts will work, and if I should change anything. I'm trying to use the same specs as bigblue30's mod.

Digi-Key.com

Qty .......... Part Number .......... Description .......... Unit Price

2 ..... 4163PHCT-ND ........ CAP 100V 10UF ELECT AXIAL ....... $2.74000
2 ..... 220ADCT-ND ........ RES 220 OHM 1/4W 0.1% MF AXL ....... $0.68800
1 ..... 3296W-201LF-ND ........ TRIMPOT 200 OHM 3/8" SQ CER MT ....... $2.56000
1 ..... PTR08100WVD ........ REG SW 10A 14VIN ADJ-O VERT 5SIP ....... $16.72000
1 ..... SBH-331AS-ND ........ HOLDER BATT W/COVR 3AA ON/OFF SW ....... $1.30000

MadVapes.com

Qty .......... Part Number .......... Description .......... Unit Price

1 ...... 10118 ........ Interconnect Project Circuit Board ........ $1.99
1 ...... 10352 ........ Prewired 510 Battery Connector, Sealed ....... $2.99

If you can help me locate different capacitors, I would greatly appreciate it. (The ones I have on my list are huge and I don't think they will fit in my 3xAA box)

The Digi-Key tantalum capacitors are water proof, hermetical seal, and very expensive, like $35-$125.00 each depending on the manufacture.

I have two push button switches because i'm not sure witch I like better. :p

Thanks!

PS. Batteries Not Included. ;)

Well after looking through the thread again, I see why I had such a tough time finding caps for cheaper. I was looking at 100volt 10uF and not the recommended 10volt 100uF.

It should be 2 x 10volt 100uF Tantalum Capacitors, right?

Digi-Key.com

2 ....... 399-4551-ND ......... CAPACITOR TANT 100UF 10V 10% AXL ......... $3.47500
2 ....... 478-1845-ND ......... CAP TANTALUM 100UF 10V 10% RAD .......... $2.79000
