I'm looking to add a voltmeter to a mod I'm making, but I don't see a way to attach the voltmeter to the box. How did you secure the voltmeter (or the board, too) to the box?

Glued all the connectors and switches with plastic glue. Then after soldering all the single core wires everything just sticks there and didn't move so I didnt glue the board. Easier to fix it if anything should go wrong.

is that a switch on the top? can't really tell if it's a pot or what from the pics, nice job, looks functional for sure!

That's a female RCA connector with a removable rivet in the middle for a touch switch. the mosfet is behind the volt meter and I also extended the 510 connectors a bit so that I can use the Giantomizers or any typeB atomizers.

The diagram you posted looks like it needs a ground going from the battery to strip 3 or pin 3. LED might need a resistor to keep it from frying itself. Looks good besides those two things i believe.

Quick question, on my evercool mod ( didn't make it ) with the master switch ON, the regulator itself heats up

and in normal operation, I find it to get pretty hot (hot enough to make a noticeable hot spot on the outside of the battery box)

It's a rather small mod using 2x AW IMR 14500s PTR08100WVD on the reg, so i'm sure it's an evercool

Them getting warm/hot isn't consistent at all with what i've been reading... anyone else have this behavior or is mine wonky?

They will heat up if it is always on. If wired up like bigblue does it , switch on the power wire before it gets to pin 2 the reg on turns on when vaping or pressing the power button. The reg wont heat up very much at all. My guess is maybe yours is wired up with the switch on the output or pin 4. That means the reg would always be on. It the reg is always on it will heat up to around 100 f maybe a bit more depending on air flow.

Yes, sorry...B3 is ground from battery. Thought about resistor for LED but wouldn't quite fit right imo so I just left it out...not a big deal if it doesn't work but...hmmm. I guess I will just have to quadruple check all my solders and such...

I enclosed everything in a Hammond Manufacturing 4.7 x 1.4 x 2.8 project box.. sku # 1591CSBK...... Used the larger box due to making the battery mounts from pcb board and the A/AA battery contacts from madvapes since i couldnt find a decent battery holder locally..... My Fiance has dubbed it "the detonator" because of its size which is not too bad for the size of my hands.... Used rare earth magnets in the lid to hold the top down to the box, drilled out the screw mounts and secured them with CA glue.. Dont know how to post pics, do I have to have a account with someone or can i directly download them from my I phone?
