Hi guys and gals. I need a ton of help obviously

I have been toying with DIY again. I actually made a cappuccino I enjoy YAY ME! I sat back down last night to taste some other concoctions I made that has been steeping. No I don't know if my cleaned attys are all coated in something, or if my base or pg has gone bad but everything tastes the same. No matter what I added all I get is a sweetish slightly creamy flavor. I mixed up cantalope and kept adding drops...still nothing and nothing close to a melon.

My base and pg are about a year old. Has my stuff gone bad? Have my flavors, which were bought at the same time gone bad? All of my bases and pg came from DIYshop. My flavors from Liberty flights. I did buy some VG ( glycerin ) at hobby lobby. Its wiltons from the baking section. So, would you think my attys are bad or do I need to invest in newer products?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

1 to 2 % 50/50 nic base at 48mg taken down to 12mg. I use the ejuice me up cal. My attys are fairly new. Only used 4 or 5 times, washed in vodka and dried after use. Some have steeped, some have not. Regardless of steeping I get the same taste from every flavor. I use the pipettes to measure ml. I did not add any EM or sweetners to the mixes.

Did you try a juice with known good flavor during this time? Should we blame your mix or your tongue?

Did you try drinking some water, brushing your teeth, or eating something sour? When I find my juices all becoming tasteless I do one of the above, or vape unflavored. No since wasting flavors I love when I can't taste them.

Sweet and creamy sounds like the flavor of your base. Maybe the percentage was too high, or too low.

Try vaping your base by itself and see if it reminds you of last night.

your percentage in flavor is too low.. bump the cantaloupe up .... way up.. to maybe around 7%.. i would even go 10% so u can understand the difference.. cantaloupe is a weak flavor.. give it a shot..

dont ever measure in drops because the sizes of drops vary from pipette to dropper top and so on.. always use syringes because like michaelsil1 said they are more accurate.

your base can be 5 years old and still just fine as long as your store it properly.

Your %'s do sound a bit low but you do have to be concerned with flavor fade as well. A little lemmon juice for your non-tobaccos (1 drop per 5 ml) will help in that case. For tobaccos try vinegar (i drop per 5 ml). Also keep in mind it just could be your taste buds. This is very common. I experience this after vaping a coffee mix then switching to another flavor. I can't taste the flavor I switched to. Then the next day the flavor is back. Usually when this happens as mentioned above brushing your teeth, drinking some water or other beverage, vaping plain 50/50 PG/VG or just putting the vape down for a while will cure this.

I made a black cherry that still sits on the shelf and I'm concidering using it as pesticide. But I had a 30ml bottle of a premix m-type tobacco that I could'nt stand and added a little bit of the same black cherry about (1.5%) to it and it's one of my favorite change of pace vapes. Go figure.

I use apple cider vinegar for tobacco mixes (1 drop per 5 ml)
And Lemon juice for fruits, creams candies and all the rest at the same % as above. I don't use it with fresh mixes I only use them when I notice that the flavor is starting to fade. Although there are some that say lemon juice is not completely safe I still live and feel fine. Oh and don't judge my statement by my avatar:)
