Okay fellow eVic-ers. I've had my eVic for a few weeks and am liking it so far, but I've had some odd behavior. Here's the situation:

- I had a DCT (all SS from vaperfextion) on the eVic and noticed the temp gauge flashing. I have the temp warning set to 130o. I pulled up the on-screen reading and saw 167o. The eVic was not plugged in to anything for passthrough charging. I removed the tank, shut it down, felt everything (all felt fine), and reassembled / repowered. After this, all was fine.

- Second instance was the other night when I had a smok Pyrex DCTank on and the eVic plugged in for passthrough charging (yes, the USB to my laptop), and the temp warning again. I got the reading, and again found: 167o. Did the same thing of removing the tank, feeling everything, powering down, yadda, yadda, yadda. Got everything set up again, and all was just dandy.

- This has not happened with any Protanks or straight cartos (w/o tanks) or any plain atomizers (for dripping).

What's going on with my eVic...any clues / guesses / insights / words of wisdom / bad jokes are appreciated.

Thanks, yall.

167oF (75oC) is a little bit high from my knowledge. Keep in mind that when charging the temp goes up really fast. Mine when charging was going up to 115oF (45oC).

What Ohms are you working on and at what watts? Your batteries are new? Mine the most temperature comes from the battery compartment. And aluminium is geting hot really fast. SS a little more cooler.

Ohms were around 1.8~2.0 at around 7 watts. The battery is the stock one that came with it, so about a month old I suspect. Something at 167 degrees would feel warm, but nothing felt the slightest bit warm.

Ok I know what you are talking about, I have seen that a few times, I guess I just never thought of it as an alarm. With the word "alarm" I kind expect a buzzer to go off! :)

Surprised you haven't had it go off then.. Factory setting is fairly low. I set mine around 130*
It is a heat warning system.
