I have used an evic a few times and honestly thought that there was too much going on. I know they produce great vape with the right carto/ati etc. but the spinning menu function isn't for me. I decided to get the provari mini and have fallen in love with it. The feel of it sold me. When you load it with a battery it is HEAVY! I've also heard the the ohms reader is one of the most accurate on the market.... Something to think about if you plan on building your own heads.

Have you seen the provari mini with a hippo cap and twins telescope? Telescope allows you to use 18350/18500/18650 in the mini. This is my mini with an 18500 in it and the hippo cap. Reason I put this up is IMO it just looks better than the evic

imho the evic is filled with bloatware and things you don't really need. You're paying $100 for at most a $60 mod. It also doesn't have the range of voltage most other mods have, as well as not being V W. Plus that awkward toggle, like that won't break. I just don't see the practicality and benefit of function at that price point.

The provari has such a backwards menu system, to change voltage is a pain in my behind. It feels they tried to go for the over simplified one button does all system, which just makes it more cumbersome. The only reason people like the provari is because they dropped $200 and don't want to feel like they just wasted their money. So they preach it from the rooftops. I just don't see the advantage of a $200 mod that does the same thing a $40 mod does. but, oh, the reliability and all these safety features, most other mods have these already and are variable wattage.

Consistent/Accurate voltage from 4.2v to 3.2v. Enough said! :toast:

First, I own both an eVic and a ProVari. I like and use both devices, although my ProVari is my favorite.

I have had two eVic heads, and I have tested both a great deal. I do agree that with a well charged battery it delivers from 4.2 to 3.2 V with pretty darn good accuracy. I found it was within 10% of my Fluke 333 truRMS meter that is NIS traced and calibrated every six months. Now, when the battery drops to say, 3.6 or lower in its life, the variance between what the eVic says and the Fluke says begins to widen. At the bottom of the battery life, it can vary as much as 20%. The higher the voltage setting, the worse this gets. This is true of both of the eVic heads I have tested.

Now, I still use and adore my eVic, so stay your wrath o' avengers of the eVic! I still consider myself to be the Earl of eViction, in fact, "Dominus Solvit Semper Debitis" in my signature are the words of my house of eVic. But its accuracy does not compare favorably to the ProVari in some cases.

Well, I am going to disagree agreeably.

The eVic most assuredly does have VW. It has a very nice set of features for VW and some nice memory features as well. It is my favorite VW device.

The ProVari is the most accurate device on the market. Its output is always within 1% of setting, regardless of battery power. The mod costs $159.95 for a brand new satin ProVari with one year of warranty. It is not 200 dollars. It is also backed by the best build quality and service available. I have owned several lavatubes, a Vamo, an eVic, and a ProVari. I rank their usefulness for me and my vaping profile as 1) ProVari 2)eVic 3) Lavatube 4) Vamo. I think all of the mods have their good and bad points. I wholeheartedly recommend either a ProVari or an eVic to any user who can afford either.

Happy Vaping!

I bought my silver Evic in December, and received it just after New Year's Day. It has been GREAT for me, completely trouble free, and is my favorite PV. I also love all the 'bloat ware'. :D

After about 4 months of using Evic almost exclusively, I decided I needed something a bit different...so I bought a BLACK Evic!
:rickroll:

Let's count'em together...ONE...TWO. I got TWO Evics and lov'em BOTH! (Variety is nice.)

Lov'em, lov'em, lov'em...;)

I recently just got an eVic, coming from a Vision eGo Spinner, and man do I love my eVic. That being said I do plan on eventually picking up a Provari in the near future to add to the mix and see what everybody is raving about.Really wish the Provari had a puffcounter, and I could charge it like my eVic, but those are honestly very minor things.
Still planning on buying another eVic just like MikenGA lol.

listen to each his own, upon rereading my post, it may have come off a bit harsh on owners of either, not my intention.

Thanks for correcting me it is indeed vw and if you like the features of the "bloatware" that's fine and worth it for you. I just could never envision myself using any of them.

As for the provari, if you were to buy it as one of your first mods then it would be closer to or over the $200 mark with the endcap/warranty extension/battery etc. which is pretty steep. I personally am not sold on the benefits to cost ratio. How much of a better vape can you really get from one device to another and do you really need to be within 1% of your target voltage.

The menu system is my biggest pet peeve and for all the hype the provari gets I would expect it to make me orgasm every time i used it.

Now if your a hobbyist and like to have a bunch of mods and do all sorts of crazy stuff with your gear than all power to you. It's not like you need my approval or care what i'm saying, just chatting and giving my 2cents.

whatever works to keep you off the stinkies.......taco

Hhhhmmm....not sure I would agree that the Tesla is a step up from eVic. Old 33.3 chip, and I won't go into detail, because Phil does that for us...

That was far and away the worst "review" that Phil's ever done. 5 min vs the usual 25 and no mention of the unit's vaping performance? Not a review, just a rant about the buttons.

He was obviously having a terrible day and should've spent more time in "fluffy kitty land" to cheer up/calm down before that, so he could've done an actual full review of the device, like this one:

One mistake that Nick made was when he talked about the voltage adjustment. The Tesla adjusts in 0.1V increments, not 0.5v or 0.3v, (he mentions both).

Anyway, no matter how you feel about the looks or button placement, the Tesla provides more voltage and power than the eVic, so it can be considered a step up in that dept.

The nice thing is that all of these Chinese APV's are pretty cheap, so you can buy a couple different models, (e.g. a Tesla for home and an iTaste V3 for carrying around town), for less than a Provari.

Glad you touched on that. I HATED the Provari's menu system. I feel for the money you should get better along with a better, less outdated display.

That looks pretty bad ..., and I am not a fan of these tube mods as far as aesthetics. The Tesla is seriously not something that I would want airport security to see. :|
