BTW, I just ordered an Evic from TW which is due to arrive tomorrow. Will post here my initial thoughts on it, especially the build quality. The controller head and battery casing are on YoYo right now... I nabbed mine at 23% and 25% off. From what I can tell it takes a standard micro USB cable for the PC connection. The software and manuals are downloadable. So if you already have 18650 batteries, a charger, and a delivery system, you really only need to purchase the head and battery casing and you're good to go - no kit necessary!

dont forget to go to joy e techs site and download the my vapor record software AS WELL as the firmware 1.3 beta. that is the one where u can customize the voltage levels to change by how long you draw for... if u need any help just holla atcha boy lol.

I love my provari and I have never regretted it.
Man, I totally agree with you... my 'first' was a Provari V.2 (after HEAPS of research) and it has never let me down.
Such a nice quality item to hold in the hand, and it works perfect.
I am relatively new to vaping after 35 years of smoking, and this baby does the job beautiful!
What price do you put on quality? AND a successful exit from the old cigarette thing... no regrets from me either buddy!

You sure about the passthrough aspect of the eVic? Mine doesn't work when plugged in. It's charging. I do love the battery life feature though - and you can adjust it (the setting) for different battery sizes.

EDIT: if you have the money, get the Provari - it's a workhorse and not slippery like the eVic (like I said, its delicate.)

It will work as a pass-thru. Just got to turn it on.

Hi guys! I posted my Provari on Craigslist a couple of days ago and I received many offers for it. One offer that intrigued me was my Provari mini V2 for a KTS Mod and also a Joyetech eVic. I've been wanting to get into mechanical mods for a while now but I just never had the money to do so and accepting this offer would let me begin my journey with mechanical mods. I was just wondering what would you guys do in my position? Would you trade away? Or would you keep the Provari? Thanks for the input!

The eVic is delicate. The Provari is built like a tank (and in the US.) If I could have afforded a Provari, I would've gotten it. However, it's so fun to be able to program the eVic on my PC and download firmware updates. Just don't drop it! :2c:

Idk I have dropped it several times no not a klutze just live in a slanted house and a few times set it on counter top and smash onto the floor and it just shut off and I've turned it back on and it still works like a champ Idk if it's luck or just built well

You know, when you ask the question Provari vs. anything, you're going to get a lot of Provari lovers out on the forum, many of whom have never used or owned, in this case, an eVic. I have a Provari and and eVic. In fact, I now have three eVic's, two dead heads, requiring re-soldering the lead connections back together. Saying the eVic is delicate is being nice. Yes, I know about the two screws on the latest update. I'm bummed that they waited so long, and you get absolutely no support on fixing the device from the vendors....none, even though I would gladly pay for the repairs. It's my fault I dropped it, or in my case knocked it over on the granite counter top and it "landed wrong." Boohoo. The Provari people are still right, of course, and there's really no comparison. I have three eVic's because I do love the display, best in the market imho, the controls, the usb/interface/computer capability, etc. I'm using mine as a write this, now a fairly rare event. At 5 volts the evic is a little underpowered for some. The Provari is not even my favorite APV, but I like it over the eVic by a long shot, and I do so love variable power...which is a total personal preference. Accurate vv trumps inaccurate vw, any day, and while the eVic is not a Vamo, it still is poorly built and not as accurate as a Provari. That's why I need a Semovar, and they will be open tomorrow.

In answer to your question, of course get the Provari...and a Vamo backup, so you'll know what you're "missing." That configuration will never lead you astray. The eVic was my favorite ADV for many months, it just doesn't hold up, in spite of its impressive features. That's my :2c: on what is a totally subjective argument. You like what you like.

It does work while charging. And the best of it is that it uses same charger that goes to my Galaxy Note 2. Long @$$ cord. lol

I refuse to participate in that debate any more. It's getting so old and tired. If you absolutely need VW to enjoy your vape, don't get a Provari...simple.

That must be a great vape. You can market it as a "Vape N a Box".

You can vape all three at once ,... when they are all in the box!!! Now that is one hell of a box mod!!! A crap load of wattage too!!

:pop::pop::pop::pop::pop::pop::pop::pop::pop::pop::pop::pop: Think I'd have the Fire Extinguisher ready for this one, LOL!!

This one must be a distributor of TW..... with their already escalated prices to begin with.

Got here to late to make any difference.
Will say, A friend has the Provari Mini and I use my eVic in mini mod at work. Both our units have been flawless these last 6 months. Both do an excellent job. And contrary to some opinions, both have, at least in mini mode, a similar feel. Comfortable to grip and easy to use fire button.
Once set up both are simple to use with few changes to be made when changing delivery devices.

But please, pay no attention to me. I simple buy, learn, tweak and find out how to get the most out of all my gear.:D
