The "R" in CLR is "rebuildable" as in ReBuildableAtomizer.

As mentioned, while it is likely the smallest that I've ever used, build well it can deliver decent performance. I'm impressed.
(I picked up a 5pack of em from China)
I am aware of that and have a few packs myself, but Hardly consider them a true rba. Thought I might have missed a new release. Sorry for the confusion.

So what is a "true RBA"?
    - Does any of the smok TFV4 ones count?
    - Does the Kanger Subtank Mini one count?
    - Does the Kanger Subtank one count?
    - Does the Aspire Trition one count?
    - Does the Anyvape one count?

I'm sure I'm missing some that I don't personally own.

I agree with Tpat. The clr coils are more akin to the old Protank and Evod coils. You could rebuild them, but they were a far cry from actual rbas. As for the Subtank, the rba deck is a proper rba deck. The Joye clr coils are more like the subtank occ coils, which you can also rebuild.

I would say a true rba deck as one that allows a user to build a coil design of their choice and positively secure the leads at screw posts thus providing a stable and reliable electrical connection for the coil (especially in a TC mod). I would say that any Rebuildable Coil Atomizer that simply squeezes a wire next to an electrical conductor with a flexible insulator & pin to provide a questionable and possibly unstable electrical connection (especially in a TC Mod) would fall short of the "definition" of a true RBA.

I don't care to argue the semantics of my definition of a true RBA deck any further than that. That is simply what it means to me. To Agree or Disagree with that is your choice and truly not my concern. No offence intended.

there is no SET definition , is there ? o_O

you COULD build the old kanger bcc
the CLR is MADE to re build (rebuildable atomizer)

    RBA - RDA - RTA

some disassemble and you can take 'em apart and put new inside
others you just gut them & replace innards

the kayfun deck is now kinda a generic term (it's got a ka-fun style deck)

use screws to fasten the wire
hold wire with grommets & pins

    "I only use rebuildables" -- "Oh, really ? , which kind ?"

    now a bit different take on rebuildables;

•the Triton RTA is a coil body with screws
•copied somewhat by the new iSub RBA rebuildable
not even sure yet about the new Cubis rebuildable atomizer- it goes both ways...

guess what one vapin' peep calls it, might be different to another.....

Not worth arguing about in my opinion. I just thought JT released something new I missed & the way they have been going I wouldn't be surprised. Let it go.....

My apologies for not reading the previous thousands of posts. I've been using a mini for the past several weeks as my daily driver and liking it. I have one concern. I can tighten down the atomizer until it is snug on the 510 connector but there remains a slight wobble. My guest is the 510 connector is floating, not rigidly attached to the mod but shows no sign that it's going to move out of position. Is this something I need to b concerned about? If so can I correct it myself?
no concern, a few months using it and no probs yet w/my stmini and the wobble.
as been posted its easy to shim if worried

I work in a shop with many trades represented and equipped, machining, welding, building, electrical etc. I should be able to work out a shim for this. I'm curious now about how the 510 assembly is anchored to the case. I like the mod. I hope this is not a weakness.

Pics were posted earlier in the thread. The 510 is not actually attached to the enclosure. It is captured and notched to prevent rotation.

Thank you. That explains the wobble. It's part of the design so not a flaw.

In my work I do a lot of drilling and taping. WIth several of my mods the 510 threading is not as tight as I think it should be. The downside is the threading will wear faster. Thread clearance in my mini is okay but more than I would like. May be they do that because it reduces careless users cross threading.

Here is the answer for your problems. I found out about it too and the wobble bothered me so I got some of these work perfectly.

I went to work this morning thinking I should be able to make something. After lunch it came to me. I'm the shop engraver, I can engrave one, so I did. It's about 10 thou thicker than the ones you linked to but works never the less and I dressed it up a bit, which you can do if you are an engraver. I would like to show a photo but haven't figured out how to do that on the forum.

    no and no as idk

The SS you choose will depend on the gauge you're looking for. If you're happy with the coil geometry you're using now, stick with it. Heat flux basically stays the same with geometry, regardless of wire type. In other words, if you're currently building with 26g wire, choose a SS wire available in 26g. I believe hat leaves 430 out, as we've only found a supplier of 28g. 316(L) is available in all the usual vaping gauges (22-30). UD has picked up on the SS craze and is packaging 316L. I'm not sure of 304 availability in the States. If you don't mind waiting, Fasttech has quite the selection of 316 & 304 now. Good luck!
