I didn't get to pay for mine actually. They sent it to me after giving them feedback on another user feedback contest on their forum.

The entire idea of user preset anything is pretty new on our budget mods. And it's still limited to the basic TCR value. For the most part... I'm sure others can give examples of how it's being handled by other brands.

For a full parameter user preset, you'd need to go with (I believe) Evolv's dna board, and possibly the SX family (though I've never looked into their setting capabilities or their interface software vs. the DNA's Escribe).

But JoyeTech is really pushing the norm with both the mem slots and frequent, and function adding, updates. I'm hoping we see more improvements from them as well as other makers adding updates.
It's catching on so we'll see what's what... for as long as we're allowed that is. :p

I have no idea how much stuff can still be added to this board also but yes we will see, for sure they are working on something :)

Whelp, a couple months in and I'm getting the the instant temp protection, wispy or no vapor problem while using SS in TCR mode. Lately happens 1-2 times a day, maybe more. Seems to happen on sleep.

Easy fix - unscrew atty (tank) until mod can't read the resistance, turn mod off, turn mod back on, screw atty back on. Tuning mod off and back on alone doesn't work. Neither does just re-seating the atty.

Especially irritating if it happens while I'm behind the wheel. Mildly irritating otherwise.

Oh well. Looks like I got unlucky with this one. Love everything else about it though.

the bachelor for ss361l 24g .6ohms on the evic mini, its a hit and miss so far.
the stmini w/ss361l 26g .55 ohms, its a miss w/the evic mini
they either hit to hard, too hot, or protection kicks in even when cold, its a merrygoround.
cant seem to dial it in, tried every possible tcr and even ss316 mode, its just not consistent.
thank god for power mode and ss

edit. now the stmin hitting properly in ss316 mode, weird

Yup, every time.
Don't do that much TC, so isn't that big of an issue really.
I think mine heard yours. It's doing it more and more often. Guess I'll try updating to the latest FW - although I'm quite happy with the current layout.

Works great in power mode, but I'm currently into SS316L TC. Too bad...

I've been using 2 different VTC Minis every day since November of last year with 316L SS (and sometimes 304 or 316). I only vape in TC with the TCR set to 0092 or 0105 and it has always worked well as long as my coils are spaced. Standard single strand 316L wire, 316L Claptons, fused Claptons, twisted wire or braided wire, all have worked well in TC on my VTC Minis.

The only time I have had problems was when my builds were off, the connections weren't tight, the coils were contact, or the mod's 510 connection needed cleaning.

Been running the same single strand 28 ga. SS316L coil for maybe a month now and it's only recently been giving me problems - maybe a week. Coil looks fine, "softly" dry burned every couple or three days. Checked post screws, 510 connection on both mod and tank (Tobeco Kayfun Mini v3 clone).

I'll try a new coil soon. I've been meaning to try switching out the center post washer anyway, so I'll break the tank all the way down and give it a good cleaning.

We'll see. Think it's the mod though. Same symptoms others were writing about early on in this thread. Good thing it happen before I ordered another one.

It's the 316ss. It has to low of a tcr to work in TC IMHO. You could try using 430ss tcr and lowering the temp?
316ss needs to be used in power mode.
Could be, but it was working fine for several weeks at TCR 92. The stock SS setting hits way too hard on 316L. SS430? You mean SS304? That's a thought, but I've got too many spools of wire lying around as it is.

No, they meant SS430. Higher TCR value so it is easier for TC chips to see changes.
Since I left Ti, it is all I have used. Partly because, should any mod drop out of TC to power, the SS will be fine.
So far, it's worked fine for TC in a number of mods, including the VT-mini.
