Thanks for the heads up very interesting as a development. If this were to become an industry standard then it would be ok but wouldn't wanna be stuck with only there tank for tc. I fear we shall see another vhs vs beta max or hd dvd vs blu ray battle before get there though.

Apart from the fact that it may nevver see the light of day, I think your point is a good one. This will only work with their tanks. So unless they license this or something, then for me, its a fail however good it is. In any case, I have a stack of atty's that work beautifully with current TC technology that will not be upgradable for this. Im sure many are in the same boat. For newcomers, wanting to use kanthal then maybe it will be attractive. Otherwise, I think it might have some trouble with market penetration and maybe not as 'disruptive' as the name would suggest! I guess, as ever, we will see!

Yeah pretty much it's not the devices fault it's an imperfect science and all it needs is the wind to change direction or a little nano particle of dust to get between the atty and 510 pin and it throws all these really fine resistances off. I've just been watching Mr B dna200 vids and could it get anymore complicated! His analogy is spot on. When I smoked I made a roll up and set fire to it, when I vape (kanthal) I fill it up and press a button but with that s@#t I need a degree in particle flaming physics just to understand the software!

When they find a way of incorporating a temp sensor where the heat is generated then I will all over it.

Edit: sometimes us brits are rubbish at spotting humour!
When I started with temp control on the flask clones a year ago I felt the same as you. Temp control has come a long way & the 200s are awesome. SS TC is pretty darn respectable and I just don't need to be pushing 60W-70W into a coil to feel satisfied. 30w pretty much does it for me and TC even on the evics gives a darn respectable vape. To each his own but I really think you should give a 200 a try before you write off TC all together!

In all fairness I am being a bit harsh to the technology as it's very clever and the vtc mini is my first stab at tc. But I gotta stick by my earlier comments that as a whole the current tech relies on some very delicate measurements that can be thrown off very easily. I get asked by smokers I know what I'm doing and what's involved, but how can I sell them on something that is so flakey and technical. TC is designed to be safer, that's a good thing for a starter but you couldn't put a first time vaper through this and expect them to stick with it so it just needs to become plug and play so to speak. Even saying this when it's setup correctly I really enjoyed the flavour I was getting as it felt crisp and clear. I did a 26g ti twisted coil came out about .15ohms in my tugboat and that was an eye opener for all of 5 mins till my Mini fell over!

I would like to see that innokin in action but I doubt it will ever materialise. A lot of these manufacturers from China seem to release a concept into the wild and gauge response as to whether they produce them or not and do we really need more proprietary tech in this industry!?

I've not done a lot of research into ss so not sure where to begin. Are there any associated risks with the material as a whole? I went with titanium as it seemed to have all the properties I would want but surely there will be massive inaccuracies using ss on the mini?I didn't like nickel when I tried a build at my mates couple weeks back, I found it hard to work with and not all that keen on the taste I got from it.

When we talk about pushing watts in tc mode does it really matter as the device is regulating them according to temp so I assumed not? I will probably venture into buying a 200 in the not to distant future (wife permitting of course);).

i will chime in

but consider that i am in a 3rd world country and sometimes we just dont give a s*** on some stuff :)

ss wire has been quite popular here for a while now and been used extensively on mech mods (because of the lower resistance and they are really easy to use)
not sure what grade/class of ss i am using now.even if i wanted to know i doubt the shop i bought it also knows :)

i cna only say regarding inaccuracies..
and its a very genral term..

(lately with th new software, its been jumping in and out of tc mode, nothing a little unscrewing would fix(will be doing ti again later on hopefully my ti issues have gone away as well )

set @45watts and 200f
it gives off a warm vape much like ti coils on the 500-600range
thats how inaccurate you can get on using ss wires on the mini,

In TC it is all about the pre-heat and that is where the 200s shine. Push the button and instant on.

That's ok then its as I thought and I've had the mini maxed in tc mode which has made a big difference for me flavour wise but I've heard a lot of people saying they won't go above say 30w in tc and I'm thinking why!? It's not like power/kanthal mode, maybe there missing the point?

Fair play maybe I'm just spending too much time thinking about all this and not enough vaping as we do tend to live in nanny state ere in the uk! :)

So there's a fair gap between ss and ti temps then!! Maybe if we ask Joyetech real nice they might include a ss tcr in the next firmware (yeah right like that's gonna happen). Keep us posted how the ti mode works out for you now your on v1.2?

You are right, they are wrong, but you also only need to set the max watts it will take to get up to temp as quickly as possible for a build so as not to overshoot your temp and degrade your wicking/coil. When I vaped in non TC I would need to rewick daily. Now, using multiple mods it is like every three weeks because I'm not torching them anymore.

Was flavor feeling like it was lacking when I first started - yes, but I got used to it and later realized the taste I was missing was burnt juice and cotton giving me that throat hit. I'm glad I made the change.

Ok you've convinced me to give it another shot as now thinking about it that twisted build I had on when I was having issues was very tasty and my order of manabush has just turned up!;)

Just read the comments of brians (tvc) update review, and nothing but love for the device there. A bit surprising after reading this thread for weeks now :)
But as i said before, there will always be some faulty devices, and people getting them will always come to this forum. When i wanted to try vaping for the first time ( 2008 i think), i was reading this forum, and gave up on idea, because i always got the feeling that there is sonething wrong with every vape device. Not much has changed in that regard, and i still find it sad, that lots if people will miss out on great devices, because few people with problems will make it look like it they are all faulty.
Not saying you are not supposed to scream about it, you have every right, its just unfortunate that the general feeling you get in this thread is that vtc mini is an awful device.
I really don't know why you guys still didn't make a thread about vtc mini problems, as was suggested few times before? I'm sure joyetech stuff would have easier time reading through it :)

Anyhow, just wanted to say that i feel with you who are having problems, but i really love mine and i just realized that there are many people out there feeling the same way.
Just wish joyetech would admit there are some qc issues, and replace the faulty devices for you guys.

I'm at the point where I've had enough messing around with wicks, coils and juice on my hands. Nothing is working as expected and I simply don't trust a unit I have to 'trick' into working, then it stops working as soon as I put it down.

I mean what if it goes really wrong one day and ends up blowing someone's face off?

Joyetech have completely left me hanging despite numerous attempts to at least get them to recognise that there's a fault with my unit. They won't reply to my emails, won't respond on their customer support forum, nothing.

Regardless of cost I will not be trusting them again with my money because if something goes wrong you're on your own.

I suppose you will always get more people looking and commenting on threads like this that are having problems and looking for help, I know that's how I stumbled across it. I certainly didn't mean to cause offence to anyone if I've contributed to putting a negative spin on this thread but If it wasn't for the help and information I received here I may well have sold the mini on. Your right it is a cracking little device in looks and feel and now I'm getting the benefits of temp control. I've had nothing back from joyetech and have been ignored on there forum along with others whilst they engage with users on different threads. I'm lucky all my problems seem to have disappeared after the new firmware and other various tinkerings but I know there are still some with issues that aren't so fortunate.

On a more cheerful note I've stuck this titanium build on tonight and am merrily working my way through a bottle of powwow sauce! :vapor:
