Anyone else getting a batter dead problem? mine sometimes shows an empty battery and wont fire, but picks it up the next click. do i need to update it or something? only had mine a few days

It sounds like a defective mod. It absolutely should not do that with any firmware version. You may want to return or exchange it.

TY for the reply. I had it for a few days and it didnt do that. I'd really hate to have to go down to the post office.. :( could it just be that the battery isnt charged enough to let me vape at that wattage? (40watts)

hate to say, but if you skim back thru THIS THREAD , I believe some others had
the same problem - some sort of 'glitch' which required vendor attention/return...

it's a bummer, but I'd get after it sooner than later...

good luck

Im still working with it but it seems to be a stealth mode bug. When I change batteries or take it out the charger or leave it for too long, it acts kind of funny, I took it in and out of stealth mode a few times and it seems to be working fine now. TYVM for the reply. I'll try to keep you guys posted as I do more testing. I love this little beast so much, that I'm willing to wait for a replacement and fight and fight until I can get a working one. Im even willing to overlook this bug as its not mod-breaking, but its just a little nuisance I might have to put up with.

I don't think so. If it's showing an empty battery and not firing on one press but it fires on the next press and shows the correct battery indicator, it sounds like a manufacturing defect. Could be a bad solder or something more serious.

Okay. It might be a tiny bit early to tell but I think I fixed it/found a fix for it. The device appears to be a tiny bit fiddly with stealth mode. I found in both cases, turning stealth mode on and off and firing it while the message was displayed, confused the device. The way I fixed it was to simply wait until the message disappears.. wait like 1-3 seconds for good measure, and everything displays correctly with stealth mode off. the same with SM on, but there's no way to tell except to say that it fires on the first press every time. The issue also appears to be with the 'screen sleep.' When left alone for more than like 15-20 seconds.. the bug starts up again. I haven't gotten it to work flawlessly but Im still troubleshooting. The issue also seems to be more pronounced when taking it off the usb wall charger.

Thanks for all your help and feedback guys. Im gonna keep working on it until I get a reply from my seller or work around it all together.

Has anyone had their fire button become "mushy" or lost tactile feedback? Mine has become mushy to the point that you can't tell if its firing or not unless pulling on the tank or watching the screen.

Could this be warrantied if the button completely fails?
open her up. its only two screws. Be careful tho as the spring at the positive battery pin can get away from yah.

It might be due to juice gunk. You might be able to clean it up if you get in there. its a tiny little button that I dont think would gunk easily but its soo tiny that I think it would be very prone to pressure damage ie pressing down too hard on that fire button. Its glued/soldered in idr so I dont think there's a way to replace it or that its easily replaceable. So you might just need a new one. Only way to know whats goin' on is to get in there

I've already taken it apart, and as expected it's clean as whistle inside as im almost exclusively a tank guy.

I noticed that joyetech was proactive about pushing too hard as the button has an inner rubber pad so you don't crunch the actual button on the board.

Its just odd because i'm not a button masher, my sig 150 from january is still like new along with my Ipv4 and Ipv3 li and my dna30 thats over a year old are all very much like new still.

I'm thinking the little dome shaped spring/contact inside the little buttons used in these buttons must be losing its form

thats gotta be it. replacement buttons seem like a much easier fix and a simple thing to request from joytech or to maybe buy on ebay

BTW, Im fully charged now and the problems are still there.. Its driving me nuts that the device still functions wonderfully but is buggy at times.. I feel like it would be an easier decision to RMA if it was completely busted. it basically works 90-95% of the time.. so idk

Unfortunately it's the button that's soldered to board that's wearing out. Most likely will be the failing point. I'm probably gonna order an rx200 here shortly to take the mini's place when it dies

Here's something interesting. It might require more time but I switched my Velocity RDA with my old nimbus and its not tripping up, bugging out or anything.. working perfectly.. no glitches... I'll put more time into it but I think it might be due to my dual twisted .4ohm coils that might not be tied down all the way due to one coil firing slightly faster than the other. it might be causing a short of some kind.. updates coming soon

UPDATE: fkn POS Velocity clone.. one of the top post threads stripped away and it was barely making a connection with the coil.. leading to what I suspect to be all kinds of shorts and malfunctions with the VTC mini.. My old (starter/newbie) RDA: Nimbus is vaping like an F'ing champ and the device is working flawlessly. The point: Check to see if your RDA/Tank is the problem if your having issues similar to mine. Before returning it, try out a bunch of different tanks/RDAs and maybe even batteries.

My heart goes out to all the folks having real problems with the actual mod. This thing is a beauty. It's just a shame if so many are having legit problems with theirs.

Mine doesn't seem to really have the anemic vape issue, but my question is.......
When locking your base resistance, do you guys screw atty on when device is off or on?
I have found that if I screw atty on while device is on it detects resistance, lock it, then after the first fire the resistance drops about .02 ohms.
I believe this is because it detects resistance the moment contact with center pin is made, then after firing it is detecting the resistance after it has been fully screwed down, making better contact, therefore less resistance.
Any thoughts anyone? I don't have it with me to try attaching atty while off, and figured I would post now before it slipped my mind.

Update: I went and got my VTC Mini just to try this.
When I fully seat atty with device off and then power it on, it detects resistance and it remains constant. Even after device goes to sleep.
