It wasn't.
Our earliest units came with 1.02 software and the 1.10 updater was posted shortly after.

You're just seeing a later date of when they began to include that .bin, the first couple didn't have it in the zip file.

oh I see

mine came with v2.0 so am way behind here

my cheap throw about mods back then were sxk flasks and sharks

these are great cheapo's that I don't have to worry about :thumb:

Perhaps someone here can tell me what I'm doing wrong.
I'm using a 0.5Ω SS coil head in a Cubis atty on the VTC Mini. When set to SS316 mode it vapes just fine. If I use the TCR setting of 0092 the vape is almost non existent. The same head on a SX350j equipped mod with a TCR set to 0.00092 vapes fantastic.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.

I haven't played with tcr on the vtc only on my dna200. I would say since tcr is a new thing for joytech it might not be perfect. Personally if it was fine in regular ss mode I would just keep using that and forget about it. Vtc mini is a great device, my daily work vape these days, but there is a reason they are sub $100 mods.

When in TCR, What temp and wattage are you using?

What is the resistance reading on both mods? Different I'm guessing.
0.52Ω on VTC
0.54Ω on SX350j
I don't think it's the readings. If someone else here has an atty with SS316 coils perhaps they could try to duplicate what I experiencing. Works fine on SS316 setting and almost no vapor using a TCR of 0092.

Yep I agree, got mine today and have them dialed in using TCR 375 around 460-470F vape great there with Ti. The vape and the flavor is almost as good as the SX and with the spacers no more wobble. Do you run them with resistance locked or unlocked.

I use 490F and 60W atm with a 0.44ohm SS430 coil.

Try upping your watts.

Eric
Are you using a manual TCR or the SS setting? Either way, however, this doesn't answer the question of why an SS coil works fine using the SS316 setting but not using a manual TCR setting.

Manual TCR. The Mini does not have a SS430 setting.

Mine works perfectly at the 0138 setting, as its supposed to.

Gosh - this rarely happens - I like the Mini so much - I bought another color!

The new one is on the Ti setting - seems to be functioning perfectly. Just upgraded it to 3.0 this AM. The other one is using SS430 with 138. Also functioning perfectly.

I'm using both with "unlocked" resistance. This also seems to be functioning fine. Now I'm not quite sure why I would want to lock it.

I love the size, weight and how it fits in the hand. The only negative is how power is adjusted in TC mode - round robbin (no down button) however since I usually "set and forget" power settings, its not a big issue. Kudos for having the temperature on the up/down buttons and not buried in a sub-menu.

I'm excited to find a Cubix in a local B&M so I can pick up a dual 18650 version of the Mini.

I used to have an SXminiML in my future however these inexpensive Joytech units fit my needs. The stepson was giving me a bad time about how many mods I had out so while reducing the number the Joytech's "made the cut" and my YiHi devices got put away.

OK I'm going to cheat here...I have read lots of this thread, and my mind is lost.
I have a uwell crown running a 0.5 SS (316) head. When I grab the update tonight after work, what setting would be best suited on the VTC mini?

I can run this ss head in power or in temp ss mode (v2.0 still atm). I'm looking for what I need for TCR 316 mode specifically, or should I just keep it in the new SS316 mode? Or even just keep running power mode? I like vape production and flavour as the crown gives great for both (even though it's battery and juice hungry).

I made a dual SS430 28AWG build on a Tobeco Orchid this morning.

Works well so far, nice warm consistent vape.

    Hi guys.
Another question. I got my evic vtc mini and sadly (or not) I couldn't change the batteries I ordered because the order was already on the way when I asked them to change (I received the order on the day I got a message saying it was just shipped).
Anyway, the batteries I got were these Efest IMR 18650 3500mAh 20A flat top battery: Efest IMR 18650 3500mAh 20A flat top battery - Batteries - EFEST
I know they are really 10A batteries and therefore I want to use them at 30w for safety sake.
I've got a Ni200 coil for my nautilus, the one for the triton mini, and was wondering if 30w would be enough for TC. I mean enough as if it wouldn't be too anemic...
I probably am going to get some sony vtc5 or 4 later but if I don't "like" TC I might just stay with my efest 3500mah and continue to vape at 11w on a 1.6ohm kanthal coil.
Is 30w enough for a good vape on TC or should I forget it with these batteries? I like cooler vapes instead of warm by the way... ;)

edit: I'll leave another question...maybe someone has some experience with this. I am used to vaping, as I said before, at 11w on a 1.06 nautilus coil. Should I expect worse battery life on TC at 30w with a 0.15 Ni200 coil or does TC save battery because of the way it works? I reckon I would have worse battery life on TC because of the top 10A being drawn, even if not constantly...
