I had that happen to me for the first time last night but with TCR mode. After three failed attempts to switch it back to TCR, I changed it to Ti, fired it for a second, switched it to TCR and it hasn't gone back into power mode since. Go figure. On a side note, I tried a TCR of 0140 using the SS 0.5Ω Cubis coil and it works great. At 0092, nothing.

I cant be bothered , cancelled my cuboid and just keep the vtc mini and rx200 for spare wattage mods now

No mate I have been running a dual SS316 build fine for weeks

Today it just kept jumping into wattage mode as soon as I fired it

Set it back to SS mode, barely touch the fire button and back into wattage mode

Only way to stop it doing so for a while was pull the battery

Oh, gottcha. Bummer.

Thanks :) I actually went to Mooch's blog and even asked him at the time (what battery would be suited for an evic vtc mini).
Anyway, I settled on a lower amperage battery. A Type A. LG MJ1 18650 to be exact. I figured I would only be generally vaping at 11w a 1.6ohm coil. If needed, to experiment TC for example, I just stay at 30w. If, at a later date, I go for TC all the way (not seeing that happening but still...) I will get some LG HG2's. In 4 years of vaping I always disliked big clouds and sub-ohms (and direct lung hits), and I think TC is close to that experience so I will probably stick to my 1.6 kanthal coils ;) As a plus I get more battery time and less juice consumption. :D
I don't think I have ever hear of those I don't vape real high wattage either usually TC around 20w but the HG2's really last a long time just because a battery is rated for 20a you don't need to use that I go for long lasting and they are one of the best. I never use above 10a usually more around 5a but I like the HG2's and real VTC5's

Nope & Nope

I leave tcr as it should be if it requires a temp increase then it would get one

Had to pull the battery 3 times today to get it to stay in SS mode ..... dung

This is on the same build that's been fine for over 2 weeks

W T F are they playing at, TC is for advanced vapers who should control and know when to put it in wattage mode

Will stick with my SX Mini's for now on
Yep QM stick with Ti no problems like SS. I have completely lost my interest in SS for TC vaping And the minis do Ti pretty well the RX does it better and the SX no comparison IMO.

There's nothing wrong with SS its just these temperamental chips

Its actually a similar vape to Ti without the prep cycles

Trying to recreate the fault was futile last night, until I took the dog out

Its only -3c here but it would appear the Joyetech boards don't like to get cold

Works fine at home or in the car/van but as soon as I am out doors in the cold for a while it drops out of TC

Did it again this morning when I tried vaping whilst clearing the windows of ice

Being presumptuous but I guess the mod see's a standing resistance lower than has been originally set when at room temp

And annoyingly makes a decision I don't ask or need it too

@joyetech remove your stupid auto actions from all your Joyetech / Wismech devices because your just ruining what could be a good set of chips all because you think you can programme in features to help when all they do is hinder

This issue will be on all their chips, mini, cuboid, rx200 & VF wismech devices

I try to use the M1 feature with SS317L but unsure if this is even working right? Set to 92 and goes right into temp protection. Works just fine in the SS mode though. Any body experienced the same? (26G 6wraps @ 2ohms)

SS316L: .00092

SS317L: .00088

In theory it should be 88 for 317L but that would make it even worse. I have the same issue as you, using correct TCR for 316L and hits temp instantly, SS preset works fine though.

Why would they even put that feature in when it doesn't even work right or is it just beta and will be corrected in the future?

Maybe I'm in the minority but my mini is perfect...I'm only using TI mode however. I suspect they'll release a SS patch to correct what appears to be an oversight.

Don't see there's anything to correct with SS316

My dual build is perfect using the preset profile at 420f

That's just as long as the mod is kept warm

tried that mate

bottom line is they should not monitor and adjust without user input

I think Joyetech is simply trying to protect idiots from hurting themselves. We have a lot of them, unfortunately. They could counteract that by disabling when the resistance is locked, simply asking for a same/new coil if resistance is not where the chipset thinks it should be. I've been vaping this season with Ni200, in ambient temps as low as -10c (resistance unlocked), and have had no issues whatsoever. It's probably something that can be fixed in firmware.

Yeah I am just presuming that's what the fault is as its the only time it happens

It will just be an house mod till we get our few weeks of summer or keep it for wattage use only

They may sort it with update, but how many has there been already

What kind of wattage setting are you at? Try lowering your wattage.
