EVOD and T3 are dry hitting

Hey all, I've been using my EVOD and T3 for about a week and 1/2 now. I have changed tanks 2 or 3 times. Each time rinse with warm water, dry and then dry burn the coils. I don't have a blow torch so I can't clean my flavor wicks so I just rinse those then roll them on a paper towel to dry them out. The problem I am having is that I am getting what I think is a dry hit. I get vapor, but no flavor and it tastes nasty (like stinky cheese or something). I assume that nasty flavor is the wicking burning because no juice is coming into the coil head. Could it really be that gunked up after so little time and with cleaning? The thing is, I am getting this nasty flavor with EVERY hit right now and I am not really sure what else I can do. I've tried to flip the seal too. The juice I am using is 70/30 PG/VG. Any suggestions on how to remedy this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks all!

It's quite possible that the dry burning you are doing is causing it. I dry burned my first EVOD before changing juices just for a second (not completely dry, the wick was wet with water), and could never get the burnt taste out of it after that.

I hear ya, but is it coincidence that it is happening to both my EVOD and my Kanger T3? It makes me wonder if there is an error in my cleaning process or something.

I often get dry hits right after filling. A quick puf into them, like blowing bubbles through a straw into a soda, usually gets things primed again. If dry burns persist, removing just a little of the wicking may help. Be careful with that, though - it's a lot easier to remove than it is to put back.

That said, a dry hit will have more of a burning flavor than you describe. I suspect that the water you are cleaning them with may be the culprit. It's tough to get the wicks completely dry, and the residual flavor of the water can be nasty. I only clean mine with PGA, and I don't do it nearly as frequently as you describe.

Did you rinse after dry burning? Very important to rinse.

I don't rinse after a dry burn, but I will start. I did a LONG dry burn on all my coils and that seemed to help. I think my problem is that I chain vape and I don't allow enough time in between hits to let the wick soak up more juice.
