Keep the "chimney" that press-fits on top of the coil (includes the silicone cup); the short ones and long ones affect the airyness of the draw and you can mix and match short and long ones to achieve what you like WRT draw tightness.
You may want to keep the pin and rubber gasket section from the bottom of the coil as well for mixing / matching, which may play a role in draw ...
And this bottom section also plays a big role in the non-firing issue with evods and their kin (pts, pt2s, davide's and their mini kin. Some bottom contacts are not connecting with batteries and mix/matching can address this.
