I received my first Evod yesterday. It started out great; very smooth and decent vapor production. But by the time I got through my first tank, it started gurgling. It then got worse, to the point that there was liquid on top of the battery connection. I am vaping a mix of 70PG/30VG. I have read where some are having this problem but most are not. For those that are having this problem, it seems to be worse when vaping a thinner mix such as I am.
Tonight I decided to investigate the source of the gurgling. So I removed the tank, center post, and silicon cover. When I inspected the coil, I noticed that the wraps were not very even, and there was a big gap in the middle. It had about 3 coils on either side, with about a 1/16" gap in the center with nothing but wick. The wick was still wet and there was an accumulation of juice in the gap area, and a drop forming on the bottom. I'm not sure if it was designed this way but it looked to me like it just wasn't very neatly wound. So I took a small eyeglass screwdriver and rearranged the coils so that they were pretty even.
So far so good, no more gurgling and this thing is vaping like a champ. If you are having this problem, it's worth taking a look. Easy fix if it holds up.
