If you get a BB DT with the built in Key, it can be hard to tighten it enough to get a good solid connection for TC. I have the Ohman tips & I can't use them in TC :( Just saying!

Maybe a better route is a Flush Mount key & a fancy tip on top :)

Try using a rubber band, to get a grip on it to tighten it up. :|

Appreciate the suggestion, I will try that :)
So far, I'm getting resistance jumping, in TC, with the DT's with the included key (ohman) :( With a stock BB key I can use a coin & get that solid connection TC requires :)
I realize your DT selection is limited with the stock BB key, Now I see a flush mount version available, still able to use a coin to tighten, but flush to accommodate a flush seated DT :)

Is this with a BBV or a SXK BB? My SXK ones I have had zero problems with the resistance jumping around. If these tips are long enough, I shouldn't have a problem getting a good grip on them. But I guess we'll see once they get here.

Both Bill, I have both BBV & SXK. Maybe my problem is isolated? With SS or non TC builds, I didn't experience this! But with Ti it happens :( I can't get a solid resistance reading with my ohman tips, with Ti builds, with the BB key tightened with a coin N/P :)

I haven't tried Ti or SS yet with the BB, just Ni200. If I just tighten by my finger it isn't tight enough (but I can't get a good grip on it either).

But here is another thing to think about. I bet that BB key has to be really tight to smash that o-ring flat enough before you even get a connection. But JMK Tips doesn't even have an o-ring. So it is probably easier to get a good connection with less tightness.

Say, are the threads the same between the SXK and the BBV keys? I heard they were different, but maybe this information was about the older SXK ones.

They're the same Bill :) Like I'v said before, If you don't open the BB, you cant tell it apart from the clone!

The o-ring slides inside the chimney, the edge of the key presses down on the edge of the chimney for connection.

And here I thought the idea then was to leave the o-ring off the stock key. It only seals the air from the draw. I tried it as such and it seems just fine. I had wanted to change the key's o-ring to one slightly looser fitting anyway but didn't locate one, I'll look more tomorrow. Anyway I put the o-ring back on.

But I just removed the Key and tried it on a tank I have all setup on my desk and you have to press it hard enough to squeeze that o-ring first (inside of the chimney) before the Key will touch the top of the chimney. Here I have taken a photo. It is hard to see, but there is a gap (no connection) until the o-ring is compressed.

I don't have the stock key, my key looks like this.

That o-ring slides very easily in the various chimneys. The problem with this key is it can come up against the thread stop before there is enough pressure for a solid connection if the atty is a little short (my exocet).

Looks like there is a silicon gasget just under the rim? Can you remove it?

The exocet clone is short :( An authentic is rare as hens teeth! Its the unicorn of the BB world :(
