I read and copied this quote below from a 3 year member here. Have I been asleep about batteries?

"The 650 (last 3 digits), in an 18650, equals the amount of run-time in hours and minutes...so 6hrs 50min based on approximately a 1 ohm build in an atty. I learned that from ECF's Qorax. An 18500 = 5hrs and an 18350 = 3.5 hrs."

My understanding is that the last 3 digits is the length, first 2 digits are the diameter.
Runtime may be a coincidence though????

ETA: naw, the last 3 digits has nothing to do with runtime, runtime is a function of maH, and the maH value differs greatly from bat to bat.

It seemed that I needed to clean the battery cap and threads on my Spade. I cleaned them a couple of days ago with just dry paper towel, tonight I used alcohol on that paper towel. Got nice black stuff on the towel when using it. 1st fire is dirty, 2nd and 3rd are after cleaning using alcohol.View attachment 823019

So tonight I brought my VA DNA75C Spade to work. Using EScribe I noticed really low voltage drop again from the cell when firing. Straight to the battery cap I go only to find white stuff in the threads of the cap. I cleaned both the cap and mod threads and applied a tiny amount of Noalox to the threads of the mod. A couple of months down the road I'll note how it worked out.

I see Steam Engine has SS904L listed now, so you should be able to TC those Crown IV coils. It has the lowest TCR (73) of all the SS wires we use.

Can we buy SS904L anywhere ? My google search just comes up with the Crown coils :(
