Just happen to think about this while swapping out a battery on a dx, something I was going to mention in that long post with the pics of the hotcig taken apart. Those two battery posts that stick out from the mod half, they have two cuts down most of the length leaving four sections on the post. Check them every time you remove a battery and make sure they haven't collapsed, that's why it warns in the instructions to pull and push the pack on straight. One side can be tight and the other loose and still make it feel like the pack takes force to slide on leaving a loose fitting connection. I found the blade of a cheap little break away razor knife like the pic below should slip right in the slots with a little wiggle room, if the blade goes in tight just use it to tweak them just a tad. Don't over do it or you'll work harden them to the point a section of the post could break off, a slight gentle spread is all you need. Look at the gaps on the end of the post and you can tell if the gaps are too big or small.
Yes I too noticed that the pins are slitted. Although I find them behaving and mine I believe will last for decades. The only real problem I have with the Hotcig DX200 is the 510 ground. I believe it is a ground problem anyway. As the temperature regulation isn't as smooth as my other DNA200 mods. Someday I will be fixing that problem with them.

The new DR200 has a different connector, could be this has been a problem and why hotcig changed to the DR. Good pic of the connector here Hotcig Lastest Dna 200w Box Mod Dr200 Photo, Detailed about Hotcig Lastest Dna 200w Box Mod Dr200 Picture on Alibaba.com.
Yeah I like the looks, but not what they did to the battery connection. They had taken the easiest lipo powered DNA200 mod to swap out lipos and made it harder. Sure easier than most, but definitely harder than the DX200. And I never seen that battery connector before. It is probably a proprietary connector. And if I am right, that means after about a year it is released, you won't find those connectors anymore.

.I bet they used a connector already on the market, but it may not be the retail market. To make their own connector just for this mod would be an unneeded expense, it's more then just molding the body, you have to make the male and female pins and sockets. Maybe if they already have the tooling and machines in use but if not that would be an added expense.

Yes and no, part of me feels guilty because it was marked down so much. One thing for sure, I'm going to spend more money with them and give them kudos when ever I can. I've been buying stuff from then since they open, not a ton but now and then. They have always been prompt to ship and they pack stuff well. This guy Erik that I've been dealing with has been friendly and gone above, even sending me messages on a Saturday afternoon. :thumb:

Does anyone else keep a spreadsheet with their vape purchases? I have a tab for my mods, atomizers, build and juice as well as dates when they were built and how many times they were rewicked and filled.

I've been at this for just over 2 yrs. My first real purchase was a EHPro KFL+ v1 ($50) and Innokin MVP 2 ($70) bought at a local B&M. I have spent just over $3900. There was a 7 month gap where I bought nothing (9/15 to 4/16)

Ecig.com was actually sold in January to an outfit in Florida, so it is under new management. Erik was the guy in Fl who straightened out my mess on the purchase of the last DX200 after the other jack---s cut off the chat on me. He is a nice guy and took care of me when the other guy said it would never happen, so I agree about him. Did take them until about a week ago to turn chat back on though.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I was keeping a spreadsheet, but got discouraged. I don't even want to think about what I've spent...and vaping was supposed t be cheaper than cigarettes! On the other hand, I don't anticipate spending any significant amount for at least a year.

I haven't in a spreadsheet, but just text files which would be super easy to convert to csv and into a spreadsheet. I too just a year ago didn't spend any money on anything to do with vaping for a period of 6 months. As I thought I had everything I needed for the rest of my life. Then January lots of new nifty RTAs and mods came out. I too have spent about the same amount since I started vaping.

No tools were included. Most of my juice wasn't included either.

I thought I'd spend about the same, maybe save a bit more than smoking and I did. I spent about $200-$250/mo on cigarettes before I quit. My main motivation was to get healthier, not save money. I was (am?) happy to spend the same amount if it doesn't kill me.

I'm just about done buying stuff for at least a few months I think. There's really nothing else I'm interested in and definitely nothing I NEED.

Dry and windy
I asked them if the DX200 that they are selling is V1 (Silver buttons) or V2 (Black buttons).

The reply is,,,,,, "The DX200 kits we have all have the black buttons."

HotCig DX200 Kit This store is in Oklahoma City, OK.

This Kit contains the DNA 200 Device, the Battery pack, and the charger,,, $80.00.

I thought I needed a charger and figured that I would just find a kit that included one. Instead I just bought a charger on ebay.
