SS430 works as one would expect wire to work.

I've tried ni200, Ti, and SS316 and I don't think I could tell the difference in the vape between them. But that's just me.

The only differences to me are the strength or rigidity of the wire, which makes it easier to reuse after rewicking... Ni200 is 1 time use coil. When the coil gets gunked up or the wick is done (whichever comes first) you start over from square 1. Ti and SS316 you can reuse the wire coil with new cotton. That's about the only difference I see. I know people say they taste one better than another?

I was going to try Nife30 or Nife70 and SS430 and decided I'm spending (wasting) money. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong?

I'm with you on "they are all the same taste" well once you get it in there on a regulated mod and the resistance falls within the mod's specs.
After that it's how lazy it lets me become.
My way of looking at it is if the coil looks the same it will vape the same.(IMO)

I can't tell you guys how much better reading that makes me feel. I was expecting different answers. :)

Now I know I'm not crazy. I'm a simple Texas guy... My taste buds are simple to I guess...

I remember when I was heavy (heavier?) into cigars and I'd read the review and tasting notes... "earthy leather with a hint of mushroom" (you can't make this stuff up). I'll echo something I used to say all the time on the cigar forums, I taste tobacco. Some good, some bad, but always tobacco. Same here in the vape world, the wire itself to me makes little difference. Shape, placement, and I think wicking material matters. Huge improvements moving from silica to cotton, at least for me.

I do believe SS316 & Ti coils have a cleaner flavor than NI200 coils though like KTM said earlier. That in itself denotes a hint of flavor.

I'm with you guys there taste/vape experience is coil geometry, wick & airflow far far more than which metal or what resistance IMO.

Agree, but will add that coil metal is 99% of ease of building, resiliency and ability to clean and re-wick. I also worry about materials that are metals that I don't want in my body.

I tried SS 316/17 they were all right but I found Ti was better. So wats so great about SS430? @mikepetro Are you sing SS430 too? I,m all ways interested in new things :) Were can I buy some?
No, I am using TI. BRD says he is going to turn me on to a foot or two of the SS430. The only reason I would have to switch from TI was if something worked just as well in TC mode but held its shape better for wicking/rewicking.

Besides, I have a 1/2 pound of 26awg TI.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I bought into Ti way back, when Unkamen was the only handy source. Ni tasted metallic to me and I tore that out after a few hits and went back to kanthal until the Ti arrived. To me, it's cheap enough and easy enough to re-coil and re-wick whenever needed or I feel like tinkering. Given the mixed results that I've seen others have with SS, I'll stick with Ti.

I will say the Unkamen wire is filthy. I carefully torch it, to temper it a bit so the springiness is gone, and to burn off the oils. Then I wipe it with a 3M abrasive pad and IPA. After that, wipe through a tissue or towel, with IPA until it wipes clean. The whole process, to clean enough wire for four or six coils, only takes a couple of minutes.

I've gotten to the point that I can take a tank off a DNA200 or DNA75, re-build it completely, and put it back on the DNA without getting a "new coil?" prompt.

Thanks for the reply Mike :) I'm all ways curious to wats trending Now! I guess I don't want to miss out on whats new & exciting today :)
I have read all the recent comments & tend to disagree, I can taste subtle little differences in different wire types. I like Ti cause it's excellent for TC & gives the closest to Kanthol taste.
I find Ni or SS to be a little to clean, for lack of a better description. Theres the flimsy nature of Ni also, witch I really don't like cause rewicking becomes a real PIA. SS is sturdy like Ti But TC IMO don't work as well with SS & theres the "clean" non existent taste to it.
I run 26 gauge Ti in all most every thing & will continue to do So.
Thanks again for the reply :) Also So wats your opinion on the German Chip?

Yeah you won't see it until it gets really low. My pack 1 is currently reading 11.08v right now and each cell is reading 3.69v. The cells are really close to taking a nosedive real soon. Btw, I just ordered another DX200 from somewhere else and I will check that one when I get it to see if they are any different.
Well I got the second DX200 (black). My red one was ordered from ecig.com and shipped from the Fulfillment Center in Oklahoma City, OK. My black one was ordered from VaporWorld and shipped from the Fulfillment Center in Oklahoma City, OK. o_O The street addresses are different and so are the zip codes. :?:

Well the first drain on this different source (is it really?) lipo came out to:

FullyMax Pack 4 of 4 (black)
Charged at 10.8v @ 1A
55 minutes finished charging, reported capacity is 809mah.

Before charging
Cell 1 = 3.26v (DNA200 3.30v)
Cell 2 = 3.10v (DNA200 3.16v)
Cell 3 = 3.28v (DNA200 3.31v)
Pack = 9.60v (DNA200 9.77v)

After charging
Cell 1 = 4.08v (DNA200 4.10v)
Cell 2 = 4.07v (DNA200 4.09v)
Cell 3 = 4.09v (DNA200 4.10v)
Pack = 12.24 (DNA200 12.27v 9804Wh)

Yeah I guess those ecig batteries are a bit on the weak side, but still very usable nonetheless. ;)
