"Hi Daniel,

We made a mistake and sent you a tracking number for the parcel that has been only packed, not shipped yet. It will be shipped on Sunday and I'll email you once again.
I am very sorry for confusion.

Have a nice day,
MiniEcig team"

So it's been sitting there for 10 days?
Edit: as I said before "what's a couple more weeks when I've been waiting for it for 8 month"
(that's not really how I see it but can't post my true feelings here)

Still, if you had an image backup or a clone of the drive you'd be a lot better off. I have a machine that is a dedicated backup server. Just an older motherboard and CPU with basic video and some large hard drives. My main desktop and both laptops get backed up to that twice a week and it runs an image and a clone of itself twice a week as well. I got burned once, and I used to manage the backup systems when I was in IT (should have known better) but it ain't gonna happen again.

Two questions. What is the difference between a system backup and a clone?
What is the purpose of both?

My back up can do both but I could not see the value of both, I'd like your reasoning; it could change my reasoning.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I use the clone on a separate, duplicate, drive so if the main drive fails I can just either re-arrange the cables or re-arrange the BIOS for the boot disk and be back up and running without a problem. The image is more of an insurance policy along with the regular back up of the boot drive, plus I have more than enough space on the drives I use for archives. May as well take advantage of that space. Backups of backups for the backup. They don't call me Clark Griswald for nothing.

When I ran system wide backups for multiple servers, I used the "Tower of Hanoi" rotation method just because it provided multiple copies of every file that was backed up. Never lost a file other than those that were created and deleted the same day before they could be backed up, plus we had every version for future reference or recovery purposes. I guess that kind of hung with me.

When I had my own auto damage appraisal business it was just me doing everything, traveling to the cars, inspecting them, taking digital photos, coming back, doing all the paper work, billing and taxes. Now this was before smart phones, back in the Win XP and flip phone days.

I could NOT loose files on the computers so I had two desktops, the main computer would backup all work files every hour to the 2nd computer, worse I could loose would be one hours of files. With a splitter cable setup both were connected to run off the same monitor, keyboard and mouse, with the tap of keys I could switch from working on one computer to the other. If one computer went down, I could tap keys and be able to keep on working.

The assignments then came in through fax so I put in a second phone line just for faxes. I used SmartFax software to get and send faxes right off the computer, it would also forward by email a new incoming fax and at the same time send me a text message to my cell phone a new fax came in. While on the road I used a laptop, I had my cell phone and a air card for the laptop so anywhere that had cell coverage I'd have internet. When I saw a text for "new fax" I'd pull over, pull up my emails and see what the new assignment was, if it was in the area I was in I could swing by and inspect the car while there, if the car was available for inspection, saved me from having to travel back to the same area another day. I also used Maps software and a GPS that plugged into the laptop, now we have smart phones with google maps.

Once back home the laptop would be plugged into the network and all files sync, and again in the morning before I left, all three computers would have mirrored work files. Using the cell phone as my business phone and having all current files with me while on the road allowed me to take calls from insurance companies and run my business at any time be it at home or out on the road. I added a printer/scanner to the truck, I could scan in copies of tow bills, write estimates on the spot, print them out and leave them with the shop or owner. At that time, I was the only independent adjuster in my area that had a complete mobile business, the only other company like mine was GEICO and they had their own adjusters set up with their fancy mobile vans, I was a one man show. Now everyone has setups like that but it's much easier these days, so much can be done right on a cell phone and tablet, and who uses fax these days???

Only 2 I know are the Canadian Federal Government and my father. 80 years old, has a smartphone for calls and blurry photos. No data. Doesn't even use/want free data. Has a fax machine and separate line at home o_O

I had one which I finally cancelled the fax line back in Feb 2018. I didn't use it for years, but spam faxes were still coming in about two or three times per week.

Anyone a fan of the show Ax Men? See tonight show? There was a 82 year old man been cutting trees all his life still out there working side by side with all the younger guys, work I couldn't have done in my 20's! Trekking through some really rough area with a big chain saw slung on his shoulder, they were cutting down HUGE trees then he was climbing up on top of them to buck them up. And get this, he lost his leg cutting trees in his younger days, would have never known if he hadn't told the story. What an inspiration! Amazing man! Man he puts me to shame.... If you want to see it, it's on the History channel, season 10, episode 8 titled "Man Down"
