Remember the sigelei zmax minis ?
Well...maybe someone in here can help...
I searched the Forum like crazy and Google too.
I got some smok zmax minis on clearance for $3.99....just cause they were $3.99 - and colors !
One of them doesn't work
It reads 0.0o no matter what I do and no matter what I topper put on it.
I can go through the menu...reset things...supposedly set at 7.5 watts...nada
Won't fire. 0.0o

Sounds like a possible shorted 510 pin, work it around a bit with a jewellers screwdriver. Does it still show zero with no topper?

A lot of the older mods uses a rubber grommet as the 510 insulator and that can tear causing the pin to short. Other than that my guess would be a wire issue or board.

I had a VooPoo Drag that showed 0.0 all the time, it was a bad board.

Without tearing it apart I can't offer any more answers.

If it is a colour that you really liked, just transplant the innards from another unit.

I've been looking at that...but don't know how
I do have a few others to do that with.
I got red, gold, blue, purple and 2 pink

Probably just a few screws to get the insides out but you might have to unsolder the 510 connection. I've never taken one apart but I think @SlickWilly has.

I went ahead and sent the company I bought it from a message, but I really doubt they will/can do anything. They show them as sold out now....so there probably isn't another Blue one anyway.

The top end is probably a press fit like a Provari. There's the DIY method ... put a long screwdriver through the tube from the battery cap end until it contacts the 'top' section and tap the screw driver until the top pops off.

Removal starts at the 2:25 mark ...


And then there's the ~Zen way ... build a jig and press it off.

That's one I've never messed with, never seen one before. Sorry, I'm oh no help on this one. If the company isn't any help, I'd dive into trying to get it apart, it's only $4 to loose.

I received my Eleaf Ijust S subtank yesterday. The supplied 0.3 ohm coil is working good but doesn't offer TC so I changed it to one of my Aspire Triton coils and got an immediate "short". Positive pin on the coil was shorting on the bottom of the base around the area where the 510 positive pin slides through. Nothing that a 3/8" drill bit couldn't fix.

OK, I have to take that back, I should have googled what a Zmax was before posting. What I had was a couple of those but they were the cheap china clones, forgot about that one. Yes the top cap was pressed on like in the video's posted above. I screwed an old atty base on it and wiggled it gently back and forth while pulling at the same time, eventually the top cap came off, then the board can be pulled out. I don't remember what happen to the one I took apart, what it did to fail but if memory serves me right I couldn't fix it, it was a board problem and I ended up tossing that one in the trash. I'm pretty sure that's what happen to that one, I know I had one left that worked OK, I moved onto other mods and gave that last one to Mike a couple years ago when he was looking for one to do some testing with.

I'd try to take it apart, if you don't find a wiring problem there isn't much you can do other then take a working one apart and swap the board over to the colored one you want but once that top cap is taken off it's not going to fit as solid as it did when new, pressed parts don't take well to being pulled apart and put back together again. Once taken apart, if you knock it over and the atty hits it may loosen the top cap enough to pop it back off.

I am hoping the board isn't attached well inside (major gluing) - it doesn't look like it tho.
I know prying it off will probably make it looser. If it does, I'll just glue it
