ok, so abp has been pretty useless as a blocker for some time now. trying to find out where the problem is, i went googling this am and, apparently, they were sold a while ago and lots of people are no longer happy. is anybody here still using it having found a way to make it work? if not, what blocker are you running that works?
I'm using AdBlock, seems to work well.

wonder where the difference is between adblock and adblock plus which i have been using. it used to work well but no more.

adblock has also partnered with some publishers: Since 2015, we have participated in the Acceptable Ads program, where publishers agree to ensure their ads meet certain criteria. Ads that are deemed non-intrusive are shown by default to AdBlock users.''

how does that work for you, craig?

I don't use the features of it where you can do optional blocking/not blocked. I either block all or none. None when a video I want stops me when ads are blocked, example NBC.

On my to Lowes this morning I went past Greek Peak, stopped and grabbed a pic, they are already making snow, as you can see in the foreground we have no snow yet. To my surprised people are out there skiing, they can have it, I'm back inside comfy and warm.

i used to have ublock and liked it but a few years ago ff no longer supported it. i still got it in my addons but disabled. wonder if it would update itself ...
I use FF and it works perfectly, maybe pull the latest uBlock extension down.

I’ve been there. Snowboard/ski trip through a local ski club. On the way home our bus broke down in the middle of who knows where. While waiting nearly 4 hours for the rescue bus, bunch of us got stupidly drunk in the parking lot of some convenience store. The store clerk didn’t know what to make of it…I mean, how do you deal with 30+ drunk Canadian’s in your parking lot!

There is a tiny, tiny village just farther up the road, Virgil, NY. My Grandparents had a home there all their lives, that area has been a part of my life all these years, Greek Peak has been there as far back as I can remember. I don't ski so I've only been on the grounds a few times. People come from all over to ski at Greek Peak but it's not like it use to be, when I was a kid winters were longer, colder and we got much, much more snow than we do now. After the first snow fall it would stay until spring, by then it would be pretty deep! Now we have thaws all the time during winter which is fine by me, but it really hurts Greek Peak's business.

Can’t recall where we got stuck. Somewhere between the resort and the Canadian/American boarder on the US side. It was a while ago – pre iphone days so no looking up where we were on GPS

The resort was nice, really liked the chalet. Don’t recall the surrounding area, didn’t really pay attention. And it was dark when we left. The mountain was ok…adequate for the region. Not many large mountains in that eastern stretch. Ontario is no different. Largest we have is Blue Mountain which is shared across a few resorts. Much better skiing/boarding in Quebec, or pay the big bucks and go west. I remember it being an overly mild day, making the snow heavy and wet. Was a fun trip, but the highlight was getting drunk in the parking lot. The look on the clerks face was priceless when we all walked in and cleared out the beer and cooler fridge. Eyes wide open, jaw on the floor! I’m sure he had an interesting story to tell family and friends.

Haven’t been snowboarding in while, but even the resorts here in Ontario have fallen victim to mild winters.

I haven't seen climate change in my lifetime. Ever since I was a toddler, half of the time we had snow on the ground at Thanksgiving. My father said the same thing when he was young. And by Christmas, about 10% of the time there would be no snow. And having a foot or more on the ground wasn't unusual. And by January and February were the months that the really nasty huge snow storms usually hit. By mid-March snow is gone or almost. And we plant in mid-May. Just like always.

I lived in Hawaii in the mid-70's and I know the beaches very well. And if the sea level was rising, Hawaii would be screwed. As all of the beaches would be gone and Honolulu would be underwater. Temperatures were in the 70's and 80's in the 70's, and it is still the same today.

Did some of my training in Memphis in the 70's. And if they ever get snow in the winter, it is usually just a dusting and gone the next day. Today it is the same.

The only thing that changed was years ago they had taken temperature readings only in the surrounding country. Slowly but surely, they have been measuring temperature readings more so in the metropolitan areas. Which is always hotter in the concrete jungle. So people only going by average temperature readings, will think the world is getting warmer.

Ask anyone who's lived in upstate NY for 50-60 years how winters compare to what they were like when we were kids and they'll all tell you how much it's changed. Three winters ago I didn't have to use the snow blower once, that's was the first time that's ever happened in my lifetime here. But you know the summer's haven't gotten that much hotter, no at all by the same degree, in fact this last summer was mild. We don't get the winter cold fronts from up north dropping down in NY as much as we use to, it's all Canada's fault LoL.

I'm not a fan of winter anymore, loved it when I was a kid but it's just a PITA now. If we got snow for Christmas and then go back to the 70's after New Year, that would be fine with me! What I don't like is all the freezing/thawing cycles we have now, the ground turns to water soaked mush and that turns the driveways and yard into a muddy mess.
