My new car has the Ford 3.5 V6, does any one else here have one....or the 3.7. Well lets hope that the water pump lasts a long long time. I didn't know about this till a couple of days ago and by then it was too late. I can't believe they would make something like that. My 08 Fusion 3.0 V6 had the water pump on the rear of the engine (driver's side) driven by a tiny serpentine belt. It looked reasonably easy to change. So i'm looking at the engine on my new one thinking that it might be the same but couldn't find it. Off to the internet I go.

BTW Youtube guy, the 3.5 and 3.7 are not Duratec engines, they are Cyclone engines.

Tonight I acquired a Pioneer Pro-506 PU 50 inch plasma, 720P. The display is just that a monitor.
It has a tuner box that everything connects to. I ordered a remote control for it because that's the only way the work the menu. The two HDMI ports are deactivated by default and the remote is required to activate them. I'm going to give it to a friend. One wouldn't want to mount it on the wall, even on a table this thing is heavy enough to kill somebody. I made it work with my laptop, really nice picture for a 10 year old. I didn't find out the original price but i'd guess like 3 grand or so.

Sitting down, facing forward.
My guess is they used aluminum solder. And aluminum solder requires a hella lot of heat.

I've fooled with a couple of aluminum solders. The biggest problem I found is controlling the heat. Aluminum conducts heat really well so it takes a lot of heat. That leads to melting the solder, certainly, but aluminum also rapidly melts if the heat gets just a tad too high. Aluminum is tough to solder successfully, at least for me.

I broke my magnifying lamp this morning, got another on the way. I have to have it, I got about 10 years out of the broken one. The piece where the head attaches to the arm broke in half, I suppose I could fix it if I had to. I have this one coming:

So it looks like I have been posting some stuff that is only half there. This concerns me saying that the Ford 3.5 V6 is not a Duratec, well it isn't related to the Duratec family of engines but Ford branded it that anyway for some applications. Then concerning the chain driven internal water pump, those are found on all the transverse mounted 3.5L V6 engines. The rear wheel drive vehicles mostly use an external belt driven water pump but some are chain driven too.
