That must be that hack file that has been floating around lately.
The Zeus is the only mesh tank that any other mesh strips don't fit 
The SS316L strips from steam crave work well in the Plus's the Siegfried & the Kylin M In the Zeus, Even if you cut SS the strip a bit to fit, it just doesn't perform well at all It seems to me with the Zeus it's kanthol strips or nothing Plus you have to buy their proprietary more expensive strips!
Mine are only a few months old & all the paint is starting to chip off

I haven't tried different size mesh strips yet, but my lathe says we can get any size to fit.
I do have a couple of Zeus that are due for some cleaning. I should try cutting some SS strips and see how that works out for me.
Paint chipping off? I heard of people having the same mods and tanks as I have and their paint is chipping off but mine are always fine. How do you people do that? For example, I have five HCigar VT133 and I've seen many with almost all of the paint gone. Yet mine are still chip free.
Cost? I bought 420+ mesh strips for $250 (60¢ each) that I figured that would last me the rest of my life. But I miscalculated. I probably purchased 410 strips too many.

My red one I never put into use yet. The other four on my desk are blue, green, SS and gunmetal. Not a single bit of paint off of them yet and they are older than yours. What kind of soap do you use? I use Dawn and a cheap sponge.
The gunmetal one looks different since it was a non-mesh Zeus X. But I bought a Mesh X deck for it. The two on each end are the ones with the mesh which had 860+ ml through them.

It's called an ERM Plus Mike had them commissioned from a Local Machine shop in His area a few years back. They were sold in a group buy, a one shot deal. & yes it's pretty much indestructible! Mine have DNA250's in them with a 3S Lipo Battery
They have Evolv 510's & were made to go the distance! I have Number 6 & 7 out of roughly 100 made? Mike even got them custom engraved with an Evolv logo & our serial number
